Profile
✩ The Protector ✩
Name › Talus | Age › Says he's 27 |
Nicknames › Metal Boy, Boyscout, Tally, Buckets | Birthday › Doesn't know, doesn't celebrate. |
Species › Warforged | Gender › Male |
Status › Taken | Origin › Unknown |
Personality
Description › To acquaintances, Talus seems to be a model Knight- a bit rash, and dumb, however dutiful, helpful, with a very strong sense of right and wrong. He follows his code, and his god, Hieroneous, and aids whoever he believes needs it. However people who are around him for more than a few minutes tend to realize his many flaws. The most blaring being how naive he is. He tends to view very dangerous situations as little more than a game. Idealizing everything through the rose tinted glasses of the stories he was raised on. Tales of noble knights, evil dragons, and princesses in distress. He thinks thats how the world truly is. He believes in honesty, second chances, and helping all who need it. Taking more than one needs, stealing, and lying are all highly frowned upon by him, however its quite obvious that Talus doesn't quite completely understand why. He knows that he shouldn't do these things, and that it is wrong, but his understanding tends to stop there. He has never been in a position in which he would be forced to break the rules, and thus fails to see the gray areas- that situations may require breaches in these tenants from time to time. Because of this, he is overly critical of people who are forced upon bandit, petty thief, or con-artist lifestyles. In few words, he is a holier-than-thou type, with little understanding of the world. Talus is quite headstrong. Rushing into danger without much thought due to an idealization of martydom, and a genuine belief that he is strong enough to defend himself from most of life's threats. He takes unnecessary risks, and is motivated by his desire to be perceived as heroic. He believes himself being hurt is a lot better than someone else, and comes cross as self sacrificial- and he really can be. However for him, he tends to see it as just logic. He is stronger, and literally made of tougher stuff than a flesh and blood humanoid. It makes sense to him to take the blow for others. Even if it does get dangerous for him. | |

Description › While most people mix it up when they hear Talus is Warforged, Talus' armor, is /not/ his body, as much as he would like it to be. The armor is a suit of platemail, with cloth banners he wears for 'modesty', a furred collar, and a black padded doublet underneath. The banners are pretty standard, however the undying commitment to never removing his armor is quite the opposite. Very few - even within his order - have seen him outside of the suit. There seems to be very little reason for this outside of a sense of shame that is severely blown out of proportion. Underneath, he is quite remarkable. He strays away from the standard design for a Warforged, and is in general, quite modern. Rather than movement being magically charged wood, he is instead heat powered, and compromised of a rough synthetic material that resembles muscle. Over top this material is metal molded to better define both his Warfored identity, and humanoid form.He is powered entirely by a bit of magic, and a heat core stored in his chest. An orb of magically sustained molten rock, inside of a containment sphere. It is about four inches in diameter, and seems to sustain itself by idly drawing heat when needed, from anything near him. A quick way to recharge him is to just sit him out in the sun for an hour, or put him next to a campfire. The cold is deadly to him. A wonderful side effect of this core, is the fact his surface temperature is sustained at 110° F when he’s at “full battery” However this can skyrocket if under enough distress to overtax his core. In short, he is a wonderful person to take a nap against. |
Summary
Talus is a Paladin within the Order of the Gauntlet, who as of graduating, has been allowed to pursue this own interests until he is needed once more within the chain of command. Though, Talus being the restless, duty bound fellow that he is, has dedicated this time of leave to continue doing his duties as a knight: purge undead, help those in need, fight a dracolich, be a guest of honor at a Winter Gala, and maybe take out a bandit operation. Shocking to all- including him- he has begun to make friends with the people he found himself working with- despite knowing almost nothing about these people. |
