I have traveled to Winterhold to continue my studies into magic, but I intend to utilize my free time to learn more about alchemy as well. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any... well, ingredients, this far north. I suppose that is to be expected what with all of the ice and snow.
Snowberries -- Fortify enchanting, resist fire, resist frost(?)
Mashing them seems to be the way to make their effects most potent
Combine snowberries with Mudcrab chitin and fly amanita for a Resist Fire potion
Elves Ear -- Restore Magicka. I've begun growing some of these in my quarters at the College

I met the strangest Nord at the local tavern today. He was sitting with the rest of the Winterhold guard, but he wasn't shouting and generally causing a ruckus like a lot of these men seem prone to do. He was just... sitting there. And he seemed like he was lost, I don't know how else to describe it. I hope our paths cross again.
Hedgrod has been gone for a day now. I do hope he’s alright, and that he can hold his own should a troll appear in the path like last time. Perhaps I should have gone with him. I do not see why he would not want me to have come, unless he sees me as dead weight. I’m going to take this time to train with Ferron, even if I don’t trust him. I want to be better. Steel arrows aren’t going to stop dragons.
Ferron isn’t so bad. Maybe I have judged him too harshly. I did not realize what a difficult upbringing he had. He is also an incredibly skilled mage. Already I have more of a grasp on concepts I was not able to teach myself.
I miss Hedgrod. Ferron has been good company but I don’t really know him, not like I know Hedgrod.
