APPEARANCE
- A tall thin-shouldered figure dressed all in black save for a face-shaped mask and wavy auburn hair, often tied back.
- The black uniform, fabric and leather with a slim silhouette, strikes the image of an assassin more than a mage. emo gambeson collage until i draw him.
- The face beneath the mask is ordinary, almost handsome, mid/late 30s, tan skinned and stubbled with brown eyes and an aquiline nose.
- (like this but a bit older and less happy x. that said I think he'd look cool as fuck with the robot body in the uniform so honestly whatever's most fun.)
- Emotively subdued. Also turns his whole head to look at you instead of moving his eyes.
- His right hand is a beautiful but weathered copper construct; He wears a glove over it in (and often out of) uniform.
- Soft body, not especially strong, bit hairy. Faint chip-like scars mark the bridge of his nose, under his eye, his chin.

PERSONALITY
- Little interest in anything but his work helping her; Rarely seems to rest and rarely does anything for leisure aside from reading.
- When masked, often silent unless he absolutely has to speak; When he does, bears a cool and intelligent, if callous, demeanour; Deadpan sarcasm. At least he's as disparaging towards himself as he is to others.
- Easiest way to get him to break the Inquisitor "role" is eliciting a dismissive comment, ideological dispute, or correction of a fact; Knowledgeable, opinionated, and occasionally temperamental; The Doctress sees him, despite everything, as very moody.
- In general, a case of "not nearly as well-composed as he thinks he is." Can sometimes be caught speaking to no one, not interested in discussing it.

HISTORY

Your vibrato, infiltrating me

"I lost count of the number of times I'd seen hope die. The Doctress is undying. She destroyed the greatest city in history. That isn't a good thing. It shouldn't have amazed me.
"Once I acted to stop her. Now I fill an all too familiar role somewhere between a religious follower, an errand boy, a prized curiosity, and a courtesan. I used to be in love with her, in a way. Perhaps I still am, but I no longer feel terrified when she looks at me too long. Sometimes I hate her. I hate what she's done to me. How she acts. What she wants. But there were days I hated the last lady I served, too. Whenever I doubt the Doctress, it excites her to prove me wrong. And it excites me, too.

TRIVIA
- I trace this au back to July 14 2023. i call him Bads.
- He sees the ghost of Julia, the lady he was bound to until her untimely execution; Actual spirit or stress-induced hallucination both plausible!
- No longer eats or sleeps but does make an exception for alcoholism; Prefers wine, red especially, and bourbon.
- Rumours generally think of him as inhuman and immortal; Though unaging and hard to kill, he actually believes his body is deteriorating rather fast.
- Does consider himself something other than human; The Doctress tells him he's more and deliberately left his hand as a reminder of it.
- The Doctress keeps a menagerie of chimeras of her own design; He'd rather not be anywhere near them.
- 70% sure he has no blood and it's just endoskeleton in there. subject to change.
- Blurred and sensitive vision in his right eye; His old body's lens was fractured.
- Horsenapped Noctesse, but she's too old to be his steed. I hope he has another horse. and he loves them both more than her.
