OVERVIEW

A kind-hearted father and husband. The therapist father friend that everyone deserves.

PERSONALITY

Kind-hearted - Polite - Over-thinker - Organized - Level-headed - Bit of a dork

Todd is gentle and sweet. He's intelligent, insightful and empathetic, as any therapist should be. He's willing to provide a listening ear to those in need. Todd is very perceptive, and good at reading peoples' emotions and body language. Todd is sensitive, but has a strong personality to balance it. He's fairly assertive and good about setting boundaries.

Todd tends to be hard on himself when he can't help someone out of a bad situation, or when he feels helpless about what to do. Thanks to his GAD, Todd has an anxious mind that makes him overthink things. Todd is an emotional sponge who gets drained after being around too much negative energy.

Todd is a pacifist and would only resort to violence in self-defense (in the form of pepper spray).

Todd is pretty sentimental. He's the kind to take pictures of good times and save the memories. He cherishes every moment he gets with friends and loved ones.

HISTORY/BIOGRAPHY

Todd was born in December 1978. He was the 2nd oldest child in his family. In school, he was the quiet nerd that always got good grades and stayed on the teachers' good sides. There would be consequences if he let his grades slip.

He got along well with his mother, but his relationship with his father was a rocky one. His father was emotionally abusive. The old bastard would insult Todd's interests and make him feel like crap for it. Not to mention how bigoted his father was towards carnivorous types of animals, as well as non-mammals.

When Todd was 8, his parents divorced; Todd and his brother, Davy, lived with their mom. As he got older, Todd began to avoid seeing his dad as much as possible. It wasn't the same for Davy, who wanted to maintain a connection with the old man; who in turn tried to get Davy to guilt trip Todd for not spending more time with him.

When he was 10, the Hobbes brothers gained a half sister named Megan. Todd became very close to Meg, who was later diagnosed with autism. Not wanting to follow in his bastard father's footsteps, Todd made an effort to support Meg when she rambled about her special interests. Todd was her best friend and favorite brother. Davy wasn't nearly as sympathetic to Meg as Todd was.

Todd had a handful of girlfriends during his teenage years. He didn't realize he had feelings for guys until he was 15. He crushed super hard on a guy from his class, but never made a move on him.

By the time he graduated high school, Todd had his sights set on becoming a therapist. He had been told he was a good listener, and being the empath he is, wanted to help people.

Todd began exploring his sexuality more in college, and learned about the bisexual label. Most attempts to form relationships with other men were short-lived. Todd didn't like the sex-on-the-first-date/hypersexuality that came with the gay scene. And some men rejected him for being bi. He did manage to have a serious relationship with another man, until said man wound up cheating on him. At that point, he gave up on men. He eventually got a girlfriend. And they were together for about a year (give or take). She was pretty homophobic, and when Todd came out to her in attempt to change her mind, she rejected him and spread the rumor about him being gay.

One of the friends Todd made in college was a botanist-to-be named Noland, who was also one of his first gay friends.

In the summer of 2000, Todd became roommates with a 19 year old Ben. Since Ben was new to the area, Todd gave him the grand tour of the area. They quickly became friends, and started dating in the fall. Ben, who was crushing hard on Todd, had heard rumors of Todd being gay, and had to confirm it. When confronted about it, Todd admitted he was bisexual, to which Ben was relieved. The two have been together ever since. They've had their ups and downs and quarrels, but have come out stronger in the end.

The duo helped each other through good times and bad times alike. And both men learned to accept their respective sexualities and eventually came out to their families. While Ben's family was mostly accepting, it was not the case for Todd. His mother disapproved of Todd's relationship. Davy was narrow-minded about it at first; but came around after getting to know Ben a little better. Davy and Todd's relationship got better from then on.

In 2004 (4 years into their relationship), Ben proposed to Todd after gay marriage passed in some areas. The couple married while on vacation. 2 years after that, they adopted a 3-year old squirrel child named Dominic. They also befriended other same-sex parents in the area by the time their son started school.

Currently in 2018, Todd is a full-fledged therapist/counselor that works with both teens and adults alike.
