PERSONALITY
An easy-going, but sassy young lad. Nic is the "do no harm, but still talk smack" type.
Underneath the smart alec exterior, Nic is actually a kind and understanding lad.
Dominic is athletic and loves sports, especially basketball. Displays good sportsmanship.
Nic usually has to give himself something to do, otherwise he gets restless.
Thanks to having 2 dads, Dominic sees love as love and isn't grossed out at all when he sees a gay couple kiss and whatnot. And he's not ashamed of having 2 dads or being adopted. Though he's not above telling his dads to "get a room" whenever they act affectionate with each other.
HISTORY/BIOGRAPHY
Born approx. 2003. Dominic’s mother got pregnant in her late teens. She subsequently died in childbirth. Her mother saw the infant as a "cursed child" for taking her daughter's life. The infant was put up for adoption.
When Dominic was about three, he was fostered by his new "Dad & Pop" (Ben and Todd, respectively) Eventually being adopted a year or two later. Nic had a very stable and happy childhood. His parents weren't strict disciplinarians. Rather, Ben was the "fun" parent; the one lil Nic could bond with over sports, and handle his sass. While Todd was the more gentle, emotionally intelligent parent.
At school, Nic made friends quickly; being the friendly, outgoing child he was. Being the child of same-sex parents at a time when that thing wasn't fully accepted by the masses , there were some parents that prevented their kids from being friends with Nic. This always stung for the poor kid. Despite the set-backs, Nic was able to maintain many friendships. Nic's dads found a group of fellow queer parents, and set up playdates for their kiddos. Nic wound up befriended most of the ones his age. He's known Sid, Harley, and Brooke since then.
Having watched baseball games with Ben since he was a little boy, Nic naturally gravitated towards playing t-ball and baseball in his youth. His attention shifted towards basketball as he approached his pre-teen years, and has been playing since 5th grade.
At 13, Dominic started dating a girl. Things were alright at first, though she could be pretty moody. Things turned sour when she decided to give up seafood and bugs (the Anthroverse equivalent of meat). His girlfriend pressured him into giving up these foods as well; something Nic was hesitant to do. She was also very high-strung and controlling. When he went to his dads about it, Ben told him to dump her. While Todd asked Nic if he was really happy with her. Also, that if this girl really loved him, she wouldn’t try to change him to fit her needs. Nic heeded the advice and broke up with her.
Presently, Nic is 15 and plays on one of his school's co-ed basketball teams. He's dating his teammate, Vanessa Wong, who’s also one of the star players. At first, they get so wrapped up in each other, that it affects their playing. Since then, they’ve tried to save the PDA for off-court.
TRIVIA
- Nic's taste in music is eclectic; he goes more for songs than bands and genres. If it sounds good, that's good enough for him.
- Nic sometimes gives his parents grief for being overly affectionate. Ironically, he himself can be PDA-heavy with his girlfriend.
LIKES
- Basketball -It's his all-time favorite sport. Nic enjoys both playing the game and watching it. And hopes to go pro someday
- Watching Baseball - Nic played a little bit when he was younger. Watching baseball is a favorite past time for him and Ben. Though Nic feels his feline father can get a little too intense when his team is losing.
- Pistachios- They're his favorite kind of nut and his go-to snack. His favorite is the salt n pepper flavor

RELATIONSHIPS
Todd Father "Pop"
While Todd may not have much common ground with his sporty son, Nic still loves his pop dearly. Todd provides all the emotional support he can, and not repeat the cycle Nic's grandparents had done onto him.
Dominic thinks Todd can be a worry wart nerd, he still loves his squirrel pop all the same.
Ben Father "Dad"
"Think you can best me, old man? I'll dribble circles around you!"
Nic and Ben bond over sports together. Ben is extremely enthusiastic in cheering Nic on at his basketball games. Plus Ben can counter Dominic's sass with witty comebacks of his own.
Vanessa Girlfriend/Teammate
Vanessa is one of the team's star players. The two sass each other a lot. They had to learn the hard way to keep the romance and flirting off-court.
Noland Uncle
While not related by blood, hell not even related to Ben or Todd, Noland is considered family by both Nic and his fathers. Noland sometimes watched over Nic when his folks were out and about.
