Dick

Dick was once a respected dectective investigating a string of strange murders that had gone on in the city he lived in. Determined to solve the case, he followed every lead he could, but his greatest breakthrough came when he witnessed what he assumed was the murderer in the act. Persuing them into an allyway, he was puzzled when instead of finding them cornered, it was completley empty, and the next thing he knew, he felt a rotting pain in his chest, and fell over dead. Much to his surprise, Dick awoke a few hours later, covered by a tarp and surounded by crime scene tape. Although he at first assumed he had somehow miraculously survived, he soon found out that this wasnt the case, however, when he came across his own corpse slumped inside of his coat, a tagled mass of strange caution tape keeping it in place and moving his limbs. Realizing he had died, Dick became even more determined to catch the one who had now not only killed countless citizens, but him aswell. A small wrench in this plan however, is the issue of his memory, as any time his corpse breaches the boundry of the strange outline around him, his thoughts and memories of his life seems to scatter, and although it mostly comes back once he's gathered himself, he seems to permanently lose a bit more of it every time.

Dick acts an awful lot like a stereotypical movie detective, talking a lot about justice and leaning against streetlamps. He really is a nice guy at heart! very earnestly wanting to help people, and somehow managing to keep a pretty chipper attitude despite simultaniously acting brooding and serious. Dick is extremely determined to find the one who killed him, spending every moment he can gathering every clue possible. This determination is increased by his worry that he'll eventually forget too much to continue before he completes his goal, and although the general aspect of being some kind of undead unknown entity doesnt freak him out nearly as much as you'd think, the possibity of losing himself before he finds the person he's looking for is really the only thing that can make him upset enough to drop his usual demeanor.
