Albie is a casual character I made when I first wanted to get into fursuit making. He was my second ever fursuit, and the suit has some quality issues as a result, but I'm still really proud of it and I do love Albie as a character!

I'm most comfortable drawing feline characters from my long histoy of drawing Warrior Cats, so I chose to make Albie a domestic cat in hopes it would be easier for me to build as a fursuit. He belongs to a little universe I keep with a lot of my furry characters.

Albie is about as average as it gets, appearance-wise. Still, there's charm in simplicity, even if Albie himself isn't really sure about that. He's a little short, maybe a little chubby, but mostly average all-over.

Ablie's fur is probably technically calico (which would usually result in infertility in male cats), but this is a furry character so actually who cares. His fur is medium-length, and relatively thick in texture.

Backstory

Albie is a hardworking and optimistic individual, but with a propensity for daydreaming. He's lived in the same small, rural town all his life, taking up a job at the cemetary since he was fourteen to help support his mother.

He sometimes feels a little restless, a little bored with the monotony he's lived since graduating high school and becoming the cemetary groundskeeper full time, and a little fed up with his close-minded neighbors, but it's not like he has anywhere to go anyway.

One day at work, he meets one of the... residents. Phi is a ghost, as restless as Albie and bored enough in the cemetary to reveal itself to him. Once the two overcome their trepidation toward each other, they become fast friends. Phi doesn't like to talk much about its life, but it clearly regrets having not achieved more. Sympathizing for his new friend, and with his mother's blessing and reassurance that she'll be fine, Albie resolves to take Phi with him and finally leave their town to see what else is out there.

Trivia

  • Albie was created using a color palette of fur colors I already owned at the time, because he was made to be a practice fursuit for me!
  • Albie is currently the only fursuit I own. He's a very special charater to me because of that.
  • Phi is meant to be an indeterminate species. It can be drawn resembling any species you want, really.
  • Once he leaves for the city, Ablie befriends Juno and Celia as his first two friends.
  • Albie is allergic to shellfish.

Phi

  • Relationship Friend

Phi and Albie are extremely close. Albie is the first person Phi has spoken to since it passed away, and he is the method through which Phi can interact with the world again. It was the person to convince Albie to leave his hometown behind; Phi was born, raised, and died all in this one spot, and now the two of them are taking on the world together.

  • Relationship Friend

Celia is the polar opposite of Albie in terms of social habits. Celia and her girlfriend Juno take Albie under their wing when he moves to the city. He crashes on their couch for a while, even.

  • Relationship Friend

Juno was the very first person Albie talked to after moving to the city. They were on the same bus, and Juno was very curious about the guy talking quietly to empty air about the bus schedule. She ended up giving him directions, and offering him her number in case he needed more help. Later, when they become closer, Juno is the first person Albie introduces to Phi.
