About

Moody with a stuffy attitude. All she wants is someone to care about her and not criticize the smallest thing about her. Cecily grew up smothered in the fanciest part of Kalos with absentee parents who cared more for their image than their own child. After becoming free-thinking, she was sent off to Alola to live with her grandparents.

Cecil, like many prestigious children in Kalos, grew up in a very sheltered home life. From a young age, she was taught the dos and don'ts of society. But when she was old enough to start thinking for herself, she began to resent that life. She snuck out of the house to rough it up in the woods, got dirty and caught wild pokemon that she knew her mother would disprove of.

Because of her wild behaviour, at the age of 13, she would be sent off to live with her grandparents. But not before she went to Lumiose City with her mother to receive her starter. She assumed the only reason why her mother would allow her to receive a starter in the first place was so that her mother can go oggle at Professor Sycamore.

While the adults were chatting, Cecil noticed some starter pokeballs and a Keystone sitting alone unguarded on the Professor’s desk. She noted which one was Delphox and swiped them into her bag. She was quickly ushered out of the lab into a waiting cab a few moments later, her mother quick to dispose of her.

Her grandparents in Alola were easier going than her parents and didn't helicopter around her as often. They allowed her to go catch whatever pokemon she wanted and encouraged her to take part in the Island trials. She wasn't the only young trainer to start the day that she did, though. That day, a young trainer named Sunny was also starting the trail. Sunny clung to Cecil the first moment she saw her and asked many personal questions that bugged Cecil. The girl was so nosy, trying to pry into Cecil's personal life. Though eventually, Cecil let down her walls and allowed Sunny in.

While Cecil managed to beat all the Kahuna and trials, she declined to take on the Elite Four despite having a good chance at the champion crown. Sunny also dropped out but that was more so due to the fact that she didn’t like professional battling. She didn’t feel like holding onto the responsibility of being the Champion, and being stuck in one region due to it.

The two girls decided on taking a trip to Galar instead, to take on their gym trials. While situated in Galar, the two girls decided to start in Postwick since the trials started not too far over and Sunny wanted to take in the countryside while she could. That’s where the two meet Hop, who becomes a third travelling companion to the two against Cecil's protests.

Sunny notices that the other boy just seems to want the attention and praise of his peers, and comments along their trip through the gyms that he’s almost like Cecil in a way. This annoys Cecil, who relishes in her victories against both Hop and the gym leaders and doesn’t hide it. It’s not until they take on Eternatus and later on the gym trials finally where she beats him and connects the dots between Sunny’s comments that she‘s finally honest with the both of them about her own demons and what he’s going through. Cecil always thought that she was over her childhood in a sense, but seeing Hop chasing after the affection of his own absent parent, she knows that the both of them have issues that they need to face and tells him that she hopes he finds happiness with the people who actually care about him.

She drops out of the competition after that.

The two later go abroad again to Paldea, where Cecil finishes the champion’s road and claims the title of Champion.
