Zeren

AGE 11-16

Once again, the girl was forced to fend for herself, and this time around, the struggle was even more difficult. Months had passed since her friend's disappearance, yet she still couldn't come to terms with it. She made a promise to herself that she would find her friend again. Zeren eventually stumbled upon a beautiful, open grassland and decided to spend her days there. It felt safe, and she didn't know what else to do. She gave up on searching for food, even if it meant starving. Instead, she spent as much time as she could in this peaceful place. One day, she felt more tired than usual but brushed it off. Suddenly, she collapsed and everything went blank as her vision faded.

Hours later, Zeren awoke and found herself in an unfamiliar room, with someone looking down at something. The person looked up when they heard her move. As they walked over to her, the two locked eyes, and realization slowly sunk in. "...Avy?" The person hugged her tightly, and Zeren realized it was her older sister. She had almost forgotten what her sister looked like.

Zeren and her sister reunited after years, and she lived with her sister in the meantime. Avy seemed to live alone, with no sign of their mother or father. Finally, Zeren was able to live her life calmly and enjoy being a kid again. She caused some trouble for Avy, but her sister was just happy to see her safe and back with her.

AGE 8-11

After Zeren ran away from home, she had nowhere to go. She couldn't go back, and she had no clue where her family had gone. She ended up having to try to live on her own, but it was difficult. She didn't know how or what to do. She tried asking for food when she got hungry, and while some people did give her something, others just straight up ignored her. She had to resort to stealing food from stands and people. She wasn't very good at it though, and found herself getting caught too often.

One day, she tried to steal from someone, and they tried to chase her to get her in trouble. Zeren ran until she found herself at a dead end. Suddenly, growling could be heard from atop the wall behind her, and a figure jumped down in front of her. It looked like... a wolf? The animal scared off the person, and it turned around to look at Zeren. She didn't know if she should run, but then the shape of the animal started to change into a human, slightly taller than Zeren. It was a child like her, but she had wolf ears and a tail. "Asena." She reached her hand out, "Z-Zeren."

Thus began Zeren and Asena's strong friendship. The two spent their lives sticking by each other and helping each other get through hard times. They lived in a cave deep in the woods where no one could hurt them. They were safe with each other and were inseparable... that was until they came along.

One day, while Zeren was at the cave, Asena came running back, frantically telling her to go and run somewhere safe. But before she could even begin to explain, someone had grabbed Asena. Zeren ran after them, but another grabbed Zeren and tried to take her too. Out of fear, she used her magic to burn the person's hands. They dropped her, and without a second thought, she bolted and ran away as fast as she could. Once the adrenaline died down she stopped to catch her breath and the realization that she was alone again hit her. They had taken her only friend...

She was found by Robis as a child and that's when her life started with them. Zeren never knew he found her, but nonetheless, she still loved Robis and Avy. The two of them cared for her a lot but Claudia despised her, she would neglect Zeren and treat her horribly. Zeren doesn't really remember much of her childhood to be honest because she's blocked out a lot of it. One memory she will forever remember is when Claudia burned Zeren. She remembers her dad and sister had gone to town to buy something and so she was left alone at the house with her mom; there was some sort of verbal fight that broke out between the two and Claudia was fed up, the next thing Zeren saw was a hand engulfed in flames reaching for her and feeling pain radiating from her face as she crouched on the floor in pain. Everything after that was a blur to Zeren she doesn't remember and doesn't want to.

About a year after this incident something strange happened; Zeren awoke one morning to the house being completely silent. She checked everywhere in the house and discovered that everyone was gone, they had disappeared but how?? Zeren assumed that maybe they went out to get stuff from the shops so she waited. Eventually, it became night but she still waited, she continued to wait for days, she was so sure they'd return. Eventually, she heard noises outside and ran to a window to check because she thought it was her family but...It was a group of suspicious-looking people, before she knew it they were trying to get inside the house. Out of fear Zeren ran out a window and fled the home, she didn't know what those people wanted but she didn't want them to hurt her so she ran away from home
