Levivity

Levivity's toyhouse will be updated with a full profile once another rot custom I have is finished, as they tie directly into their story! :D

Name: Levivity

Age: 17 in human years

Whereabouts: Abandoned house in Daymask forest, north of the settlement Family: Parents died from illness just after Lev was born, leaving him and his older sibling to fend for themselves. His older sibling died years later from the same illness

Backstory: Levivity is a shy dragon who acts more like a little kid rather than his real age. His left back foot is missing, as well as his ability to speak, making him disabled and a mute. Only one of these disabilities was on birth, though, that being his lack of speech; his leg was lost later in life.

When he was just born, his parents had contracted a deadly illness that led them to a quick death; this left their two dragonets alone. Their house was isolated, lacking neighbors and dragons that would notice the two younglings living on their own. Levivity’s older sibling took charge of them, and began working odd jobs to sustain them both. This worked well enough, until they too contracted the same disease their parents had.

This was tragic for poor Lev, for being mute only worsened his chances of getting a job and living on his own. This was until one scientist took a liking to the Rotwing, giving him meals every so often until eventually he was offered a job in his lab as an Assistant. They became close, Levivity being like an apprentice to them. The research was often restricted to the work of flora and their reactions to the environment, the scientist aiding in the research to protect dragons against harmful swamp gases. This led to some dangerous materials being kept in the lab, which one day would lead them both into a disaster.

A barrel of acidic bioproduct laid haphazardly on a table, with Levivity attempting to push it to safety. While his friend’s back was turned to focus on work, however, the heavy container came crashing down into Lev. The acid quickly pooled, the Rotwing fallen into the puddle that was now eating away at his scales. He tried desperately to shout for help as he struggled to escape, but his voice could only muster a small squeal with sputtering smoke. A few seconds felt like eternity, the pain immense as Levivity began blacking out. Luckily, his shocked friend turned around just in time to hoist him to safety.

The incident left him extremely scarred, involving the amputation of his hind leg. The acid had managed to eat away at the pigmentation of his skin as well, making the parts affected seem almost translucent. Though this cheap Halloween costume does come with a cost, that being his limbs are easy to cut and scratch, making it more than necessary to wear cloth bandages. Levivity had of course blamed himself, but when the townsfolk saw a suspicious scientist carrying a heavily injured youngling to a medic, they gave no second thought when condemning him to life behind bars. They claimed he hurt Lev himself, and the Rotwing couldn’t speak up to defend himself.

Hurt, and left alone for the third time, Levivity wandered solemnly back home. This is where he would stay for the next chapter of his life, in the room he and his brother had grown up in. He lives off of his survival instincts taught to him by the scientist, making his own garden of highly nutritious fruits, vegetables, and fungus. Nowadays, dragonets are told stories of the haunted house in the Daymask Forest by their parents, only few daring enough to ever visit the illusive ‘ghost’.
