Mariana

Mariana de la Cruz is an 18 year old girl of Mexican descent. She is about 5’6 feet tall and weighs 129 pounds. Aside from her anomalous ability, she is a completely standard human in both body and mind.

She was raised alone by her single father, Damián de la Cruz. The two lived a very standard life for a family of their size. He treated her like a normal child despite the fact he seemed aware of her abilities to an extent. While incidents were rare, Damián always covered for her, right up until his death.

Mariana can use anything with a hole in it as a gun. A hole is defined as an opening in a solid body or surface, although it doesn’t have to be circular, deep, or completely see through to fire bullets. While in the past Mariana couldn’t completely control when the “gun” shoots, she has since trained it and now has (mostly) complete control of her abilities. If she gets really angry, she may start firing on accident.

On █████ █████ ████, Mariana was taken into facility care after orphaning herself. She herself doesn’t remember exactly how it happened, but during dinner with her father, she shot him through the lung with a small cup. After reassuring her as best he could, he told her to call the police. The foundation arrived with the police and took her from the scene, leaving her father unconscious.

This wasn’t the first incident of her wounding someone. Before this, she had also:

• Shot a child in the leg with a bracelet
• Shot a dog through the head with her father’s mittens
• Shot a man in the chest with a straw
• Shot a child in the neck with a bubble blower
• Shot multiple squirrels on multiple occasions (Mariana liked doing this)

The first time Mariana says she felt completely in control of her powers was when she was directed by her father to return a shot that was fired at them through their car window. She doesn’t remember why they were being shot at, but she remembers celebrating with her father after the fact.

7 months after her recovery, on her 6th birthday, she was given a candle in the shape of a 6 with her food. She used it to fire multiple bullets around her room, successfully managing to shoot the surveillance camera and attempting to breach containment. She shot the first person who came to check on her, although it wasn’t a fatal shot. She was banned from celebrating her birthday after that.

Throughout her early and teen years, she ripped and dented and tore holes in anything in her containment, usually in the middle of a fit of some sort. This is usually followed by a “time out”, where she is denied anything but an empty room for a few days after the incident. As she’s matured, the span between these fits of hers lengthened. Her last fit was recorded 4 years and 3 months ago.

Out of confinement, she’s very social. She prefers to try and flirt her way out of trouble with employees instead of becoming hostile or using her ability, despite the fact that it has never worked before. She enjoys being helpful and will try to breach herself if she catches word that something bad is happening in the facility.

She's eager for stimulation and thus tends to be very reckless. She jumps the gun a lot and is easy to get riled up, though it makes it easy to use her. Mariana has been conditioned to violence and can kill if necessary. She likes to have fun though, and will try to make the most out of any situation.

Mariana has gotten used to her life in the foundation, following orders and finding ways to enjoy herself. She'll talk to anyone who'll listen, often talking about her father, whom she looks up to.
