Edel is very strong willed and he does not like being told what to do and who to talk to. He is not at all like his mother. He has always wanted to go and explore the world and do all the things that are forbidden. But his mother always stops him. He wants to break free. He is a slave to his mother like he always has been. He is trapped in this place just as he was when he was a little boy. His mother wants him to be perfect. He cannot do anything wrong in her eyes. He is a prince, so he has to act like one. He cannot be a good son if he is bad at being perfect. His mother is a very beautiful woman. She always wears the most expensive things that are made. She cuts a fine figure and is admired by all. Even though she is as cold as snow and as hard as iron she is still loved by many. She is very fond of Edel and dotes on him like a real mother would. But she does not let go. She keeps her grip on him like she will never let go. He cannot escape her.

Luxury

Edel has a pet cat named Guille who is black and white with a little blotch of grey on his chest. Edel is a true bon vivant; He has a love of wine and song. He is also a talented storyteller with a great love of jokes and riddles. Every morning he plays with Guille and gives him a good scratching behind his ears. Every night before he goes to sleep he gives Guille one last pet and says, "Good night, sweet prince." Every day he has a delicious pastry or other sweet treat for breakfast. Every night he has a bottle of wine or other luxurious drink. He lives in a beautiful mansion complete with a moat, drawbridge, and secret ways to get inside. His bedroom is nicely decorated with a giant fluffy bed, and pretty curtains. There is a table by the window with a pretty lace tablecloth. On it He has a little vase with a nice bouquet of flowers. He has a luxurious bathroom with a tub, shower, and a large fluffy bath towel. He also has a small library with a selection of books on various subjects, as well as a few comfortable chairs. There is a room on the second floor that is completely filled with a giant collection of toys and games for him and his pet to play with. There is also a little play yard for Guille outside the window of his bedroom, so Guille can run and play safely while Edel is sleeping. Edel's daily routine is very laid back. He has a butler, cook, and maid to do the work. He also has a large number of guards to protect him from harm. He lives a life of luxury.

Lutenist

When Edel was a child, he used to go on fake adventures with his friends from other kingdoms during visits. They would hide in a wagon, pretending to be traders from the far west, and they would have a pretend argument about the best way to cross the mountains. Edel would get so caught up in the role that he'd forget the time, and when the royal guards would catch him, he'd be sent back with a stern warning. His aunt and uncle on his mother's side were the ones who first taught him how to act and play pretend, and it was a way he could never get enough of. When he was older, he kept up with the theatrical performances. He began to specialize in playing the lute, and he performed not only for his family and friends, but for visiting dignitaries as well. Despite being a prince, he played at banquets and made people laugh so much that they'd give him extra food.
