Personality

Hisakami usually has a quiet, composed and analytical personality. She rarely loses her temper, and usually does not get too excited or fired-up about most things; with a few exceptions being doing experiments. Hisakami considers herself to be a very observant person in general, noticing things others may not, and usually keeps a close eye on Tartaglia. To the point where she can tell how he feels from a glance, he always complains that he can’t even lie to her anymore. During Tartaglia’s story quest, she observed Tartaglia’s behaviour for a few moments before coming to a conclusion that he was in slight panic and desperate to keep his work a secret from his younger brother, Teucer. She quickly swooped in and suggested she and the traveler can look after Teucer while he attends to his work. An act which Tartaglia was quite thankful for. She also is not fond of the authority that comes with being a harbinger/upper rank in the Fatui and doesn't expect people to automatically respect him; often reminding them that they do not need to be so formal with her.

It comes clear that after spending years working with Tartaglia, Hisakami developed a crush on Tartaglia throughout her time and observations of him, though she perhaps tried to deny it at first, mostly by being mean towards him. Her habit of documenting his schedules and drawing him during missions could just be her showing concern for his well-being and being fascinated by him. This is later confirmed, where she admits that she likes Tartaglia and observed him; not just because she thought he was a harbinger, but because of her mutual attraction to him. Hisakami is generally a serious person, though she does possess a dry sense of humor, and is nearly always seen reading a book. She is a loner and claims not to have friends, though she soon comes to consider the traveler, Lan and Zhongli as friends. She has a tendency to speak out her feelings even if it offends someone, although she is aware of this habit. However, Hisakami is a very indecisive person in general. She has trouble making decisions for herself, getting stressed really easily when she feels pressured. It will take her some time going back and forth between trains of thoughts, Tartaglia has been really helpful to her in this sense. She would always ask for his opinion and usually ended up choosing what he chose. That is due to his strong opinion and confidence in his decisions. With his help she has been able to work on learning to be less indecisive Hisakami is very passionate about her work and profession, showing great care for her experiments and projects. A workaholic, she is very hardworking to the point where she neglects self care, refusing breaks until as she puts it, “finds answers”. She is a brilliant mind, Hisakami is able to invent numerous inventions, especially ones using Khaenri'ah technology. She strives to seek out information about the nation of humans and be able to learn their knowledge. Despite her seemingly cold exterior, she is quite expressive and caring towards her loved ones, especially towards her caretaker Hasu. During her story quest, Hisakami was shown to threaten Dottore and the traveler. Threatening Dottore if he doesn’t give Hasu actual working medicine that would finally cure her long lasting illness. Her threats to the traveler were in the heat of the moment in which she was aware of her mistake and apologised to the traveler and Paimon for her improper actions. Due to the influence of her alcoholic mother, Hisakami has always self consciously avoided alcohol at all costs, even during the time she has her memories lost. Even after she has regained her memories she refuses to drink or even be near alcohol, showing the abuse her mother made her went through as a child.
