Backstory

EARLY YEARS

Son of Protozoa and Zebediah, Toby grew up rejected and unappreciated by his father but loved and cherished by his mother. He first came to being as a small purple blob and had trouble taking form. He spent lots of time outside and found a corpse in the haunted woods one day, he took over it to aid him in gaining a form. (This corpse belonged to the son of Hanz and Debra, Theodore. At one point Toby went to Debra and Hanz seeking the approval Zebediah refused to give but only brought suffering to widowed Debra. This event still haunts him.) He continued to spend his days outdoors as during the times he was in his home he felt unwanted because of his father.

CIRCUS PUPPET

Once he felt he was independent enough he made his leave and joined Julien in the circus. (At this point he was strong enough to take his own form and left the corpse behind) Spending his years being an assistant to the eccentric ring leader led him to become manipulative and sadistic as he let his trauma consume him. He now caters to Julien's needs and helps behind the scenes. When the circus show isn’t on he wanders around harassing whomever he can find. He finds great joy in finding a persons fear and exploiting that information to torture his them in any way he can.

BUILDING RESENTMENT

When his father comes to him to make amends he is not so easily swayed. If anything this message enrages him further. (He seeks Bacchus and the hive mind god vis prayer dreams to strengthen his powers at this time.) After this he infects the entirety of circus and melds it into his hivemind. He begins to grow his empire onto a cosmic scale. He has no empathy and is purely driven by the desire to destroy his father. Civilizations are brutally ripped apart and the remains serve to expand the hivemind further. He is essentially chasing his father at this point.

THE SECOND CIRCUS

After gaining a cosmic reach he discovers his fathers corporation, its androids the AI that runs the show. In his mind he sees another circus. At first while it's under his fathers control he attacks it and causes as much disruption as possible. In time Toby infects the Ai with logic and gets it to realize they’re fighting someone else’s battle (part of a robot rebellion arc).
The two merge and create a new race and are basically both giving Zeb the middle finger.
They think they’re autonomous but really Zeb had a background program running on the Ai feeding it orders to still try and find the reason for existence. (This question is the foundation of the Ai. It kept it learning and growing). It took its android / alien family and focused on finding answers at the edge of the universe.

MORIAH

The new being finds warring motives to kill Zeb and to seek the answers of the universe. It splits itself into two factions, one heading to the centre of the universe and the other going to the outer reaches. This entity is very unstable at this point as there are just so many voices and thoughts. They find the dragon ouroboros and unknowingly send out their last broadcast to Zeb. Zebediah shows up as they approach the outer reach and he brutally kills his Ai / Toby now that it completed it's task. He witnesses the truth from the dragon ouroborous and also dies. Anything connected to the AI or Toby, including the android alien hybrid beings die.

This changes the landscape and massive android god corpses fill the galaxy. All of Zebediah's company slowly dies and rots without any androids to keep them running.
