history

Lloyd's grandparents emigrated from Sweden to the US in the 1860s, together with their children. Their eldest son, Fredrik, met a Margaret Ryan at a country fair and despite the still existing language barrier both fell in love. After their marriage, Margaret, lovingly called "Getty" by her family and friends, moved to the Lindstöm's farm. When their first son was born in '67, Fredrik wished to name him after his dad, Johan. When their second son was born in '72, Getty insisted to name him after her dad, Lloyd. Three years later they had their last child, Jane, a name both parents felt fitting.

Young Lloyd adored his bigger brother. Even though he was a calm bookworm from an early age on, Johan often could instigate him to do various mischiefs together. Jane always tried to join in with them, with little to no success; both brothers had to watch their step as she was a really sneaky child. She died of a bad fever at the age of 9. Three years later in 1887, Johan lost his balance while working and fell to death. Suddenly the only child left was Lloyd. His parents wanted him to archieve a higher education and spare him a demanding life on a farm. With savings and additional earnings from his father's woodwork and his mom's sewing jobs, they sent him off to college in St. Denis.

Lloyd enjoyed his time in college. He enjoyed learning and studying. He even enjoyed the busy city life, but foremost the lack of tedious physical labour. Most of his friends came from families that were better off than his. The fact that his parents were paying for his education with the few money they could afford to spend was resting heavy on his shoulders, the few dollars he made at his job wouldn't pay it alone. When his friend group suddenly talked about robbing a bank/stagecoach/fraud im Glücksspiel/WIP/ making money in an illegal way, he, at first being off put at the thought it, but reluctantly joined them in planning and executing said job. Also joined with the thought of paying back his parents with the money and stop being a burden for them. Lloyd was already in his senior year when they went through with it. The plan went awfully bad and failed, him getting injured while they tried to flee and getting left behind by his friends. Ironically, he could flee while the others got captured, but is wanted since then. Now lives as an outlaw with the guilt of his actions and the fact his parents invested all for nothing into their last surviving child. Lloyd sometimes writes them to keep up the facade, that he is busy working in St. Denis and his parents, living two states away, remain clueless about his actual situation. Up until 1898 he worked on farms, sometimes only to act as a teacher next to a farm hand as soon as the families he stayed at got wind of his education and that he is able to read and write pretty well.

His main horse, Sterling, is the one he fled with. The shire was aimlessly standing around after the stagecoach he pulled was destroyed and Lloyd took his chance. As he had no means to obtain a horse in a legal way, he kept him to this day.

 INFP-T // NEUTRAL GOOD // CAPRICORN // EARTH

Friendly, but really distant to people he doesn't know or isn't used to. Takes a lot of time to warm up. Kinda moody. Serious, occasionally worried expression on face. Fakes the tough exterior. Is a little Know-It-All and can be really petty at times. Rather expects a bad outcome of anything before getting dissapointed. High expectaions for himself and the ones around him. Would not want to be around himself.

Did a 180° turn after "the incident" as he was a pretty pleasurable and open guy to be around before it. Nowadays its possible to drag him out of his shell with a really bad joke, though. Also lets his guard down when drunk. He is pretty funny and goofy, actually. Is a head-in-the-clouds type of person as well. Lloyd is really kind, foremost to animals, but he has a soft (and empathetic) heart in general.

Mostly defensive, rarely aggressive, tries to avoid trouble if unnecessary. Do not try to walk over him though, that'll get him angry. Able to then stand his ground and express himself clearly. Don't insist on false facts or act all undiscerning, thats THE red cloth to him and he'll get into verbal beatdown mode in the most correct way possible (probably did throw hands about who is right at least once, also)(yes, alcohol was involved). Is able to take criticism though (of course) he may not like it.

TRIVIA? FUN FACTS?

  • Likes to read Jules Verne and the Sherlock Holme series by Arthur Conan Doyle. Once was staying in the Van der Linde's gang camp after a bad injury and it was so boring after he read all of his own books, he looked through Mary-Beth' books, read "Pride & Prejudice" (kinda desperate at that point) and really liked it. Would never admit that though
  • ^ has loose ties to the Van der Linde gang. Did join in in some jobs, for money. Lives and travels usually by himself. Probably the only group of people he 'trusts' enough to stick around for a longer time
  • ^ is often getting into discussions with Dutch about a lot of his opinions. Does not back down and gets petty, would not be the first time he gets temporarly banned from camp lmao
  • probably knows every campfire song in existence (while being only a mediocre singer)
  • occasionally sings or hums while going on about his day (theres no one around to hear it anyways)
  • will definitely sing when hammered
  • he can also dance. he just doesn't do it. May happen if he's really drunk and in the best mood, though.
  • 3 of 4 reasons he smiles is cats
  • babytalks to his horse in swedish. in general when it's a cute animal
  • insatiable thirst for knowledge, loves to read up on anything
  • regularly reads the newspaper when he gets his hand on one. mails them about any mistakes he finds :)
  • probably smells like horse and sweat but thyme and peppermint when you get closer

light grey Shire Horse, male, 6 years

Stolen. Kept him because he had no others means to get a horse besides stealing another one. Really calm and pretty bulletproof. He grows a moustache Lloyd finds too amusing to cut short.

piebald tobiano Hungarian Halfbred, female,
7 years

Only owns her in his mind. Belongs to a farm he worked on for some time, Lloyd wished he could have bought her off of the family, but neither had the money nor does it make sense to own a second horse as of now.
