03 — Background
Kithood
Saltkit was born in Sunclan on the fourth moon of Leaf-Fall. She was born along her two other siblings, Pidgeonkit and Petalkit, Petalkit born stillborn but still given a name from their mother. Saltkit's parents were GreyPerch and BranchMist. Her kithood was fairly normal, they spent most of their time with their mother and in the elders den instead of playing with her littermates.

04 — Trivia

After giving birth to Adderkit on her first time out of camp again they were bitten by a snake.

Never planned on having a mate or kits but BranchPelt changed their mind.

Wasn't close with much of her clanmates before becoming leader.

05 — Relationships
Mate
One of the cats that made some of the biggest impacts in Salt's life. They couldn't imagine what their life would look like if Branch hadn't inserted himself in it all those moons ago.
As hard as it is for her to show it Salt is so grateful to have Branchpelt as her mate and as the father of their kits.
Brother
They were much closer when they were younger. But their relationship fell after Salt chose SparkWind to be deputy over him. Pigeon understands Salt better than anyone else and because of that Salt knows he holds no resentment.
There still lies the underlying tension though, even after all this time
Daughter
Salt had Moose’s litter when she was still a deputy so she had a lot more time to spend in the nursery than her second litter. After a traumatic mostly stillborn litter Salt struggled to connect to her one surviving kit. And unfortunately, that still shows in their current relationship. They tried to love Moosekit the way their mother loved them so effortlessly but just fell flat. Feeling like a failure.
Salt still tries to have a relationship with their daughter but it will never match the way she wants it to.
Daughter
Salt will always be the first one to admit they haven't been there enough for their daughter. But the clan will always come first whether that leaves a strain on the relationship between them or not.
SaltStar feels like most of the things Adder does is a personal attack against her. They do love their daughter, and that much will always be true but this kit is the direct opposite of Salt in every way, every value, every motive. They simply do not know how to come about anything when it comes to Adderpaw.
