Elisif was born in Hrafnsfjall, in a family of free people. Her father was a blacksmith, and her mother took care of their homestead. Elisif was not the first child, but all other children died before she was even born. The first son of HroþiwihaR and Berghildr, Ulfr, died when drakkars got into a violent storm. Two other children, Botvi and Sveinn, died in childhood because of illness. So when their daughter was not only born healthy, but grew up to become a great warrior, they saw it as a blessing of the Æsir.

HroþiwihaR taught Elisif everything she needed to know in her life: hunting, fighting, and blacksmithing. So when she was not out there fighting, she helped her father to forge blades and make shields.

When Elisif was ready for her first raid, she went there with her father and proved herself to be a good and fearsome warrior. And some years after that she was already feasting side by side with the best warriors in a longhouse. Elisif planned to live a peaceful life and even found the one she loved, a woman named Virun, who was a thrall in Elisif's family house. Virun was captured during one of the raids, but some time after they got to know each other, Elisif asked her father to grant Virun her freedom, and he agreed.

But things changed when she was granted a vision. A dream that started to hunt her every night. In this dream she was seeing a traveler in a dusty cloak who waited for her on the road. Each time he turned away and walked up the path into the mountains, where he stopped, pointing away with his staff, and then vanished. It was no secret that the one-eyed man in her dreams was Odin himself, but where he wanted her to go was a mystery to Elisif. So she turned to the wisdom of Hrafnsfjall's seer, Othala. Finding out about these visions, Othala sent Elisif on a journey into the mountains.

The path Elisif had to take was a dangerous one, to the mountain's summit, where, if her visions were true, she would be able to commune with the gods and see her fate.

When Elisif returned from this long journey, she was barely alive, yet now she knew the will of the gods. And while Othala's apprentice tended to Elisif's wound, Othala started preparing a ritual. A ritual, that would change not only Elisif's body, but her life as well, turning her into a Berserkr. That day Elisif also got to know Svanlaug, the young völva who was meant to be her guide and mediator and with whom they had to walk a long path together, learning and failing.

Several years have passed since the day Elisif became the Berserkr. And there is still a lot of waiting for her in the future.
