Snip is an optimistic, naive, people-pleasing Spiderfolk, with a bad habit of befriending weird people.
Case in point, their friend Renderman, who despite his murderous habits and cannibalistic tendencies, his insistence on being a lonely hermit, and his general hate of everyone in the world, has unwillingly(?) become the spider's best friend and father figure.
Accommodating and understanding even to their own detriment, it wouldn’t be inaccurate to call them a pushover. They are very sensitive, easily hurt by unkind words, and take everything to heart, interpreting the smallest actions as signs they should shut up. They are desperate to be useful to everyone; lest they be deemed worthless.
They are very curious and inquisitive about the world, and that combined with their naivety and less-than-ideal foresight leads to them going so far as to put themself in danger for the sake of answering their question. Having been extremely sheltered for the vast majority of their life and getting almost all of their knowledge from books, they always have new things to discover and new things to ask Renderman about.
Renderman, aka Red, is their best friend and father figure. They follow him like a lost puppy, almost always glued to his side. Despite being almost a perfect inverse of each other, their friendship is an unlikely yet strong one. They are also quite fond of all his pets, particularly Corpse the skeleton horse.
Warpus is a rather new friend, one of the first people they began to interact with around Spawn after Red. They’ve traded goods and have done errands for each other a few times, and Snip wants to get to know them better. After their scuffle with Alder, they became a little more nervous around them.
Spindle is their biological mother, and who raised them for 13 years of their life. She is to be blamed for many of Snip's issues- their sensitivity, their desire to be useful, their feelings of worthlessness. Snip didn't have a good relationship with her- far from it, as the victim of her frequent mental and physical abuse. But she was the sole person Snip knew before running away from home, and thus she set the template for how they'd interact with everyone else they'd meet. They still haven't recognized just how horrible Spindle was to them.
Trivia
-Their favorite food is rabbit soup.
-They have three pets! A large green frog named Marsy, a pale axolotl they call Fishyface, and a orangey-yellow bee named Tanjy.
-As a Spiderfolk, they cannot properly digest non-meat foods, but Snip ignores that and eats many baked goods. This often ends with a tummyache.
-Snip’s last name means “hunter’s child” in the Spiderfolk language.
