Denali is a maine coon that was Bo's best friend and assistant.

He's Dena'ina along with Bo, and he focused on environmentalism just as much (if not more) than Bo when it came to developing the town. A large part of their goal was to maintain the beauty of nature -- not steamrolling over the Talkeetnan wilderness with their town, but build it as a comfortable part of the landscape.

He stuck by both Bo and Rory's side, even after their marriage and well into Toby's childhood, acting like an uncle for him. When Bo got sick, however, he blamed himself and opted to live completely off the grid (since both Bo and himself were vehemently against urbanization).

He spends his time travelling locally in the summer and holing up in a hand-built cabin for the long winters.
