Recovering from a recent goring, and the looming realization that she isn’t as safe as she previously thought, Roe is bedridden, with lots of time to mull over recent events. She’s realizing maybe it isn’t the worst thing in the world to need to depend on another person sometimes, despite the sick feeling she gets at the notion.
