Early Beginnings

Once a young pup adopted by a fisherman and his daughter, the fox was as happy as could be. Then came that one fated day, on their usual daily fishing trip, did the fisherman fish up a strange little octopus. Chomp! The little fox swallowed the poptopus right up and its effects soon followed. Its tail was now a tentacle and its furcoat a peculiar purpled tinged yellow! Though it appeared quite different now, that didnt stop the girl and her father from loving their beloved companion one bit at all.

Unfortunately for the happy little family, the fox's strange appearance attracted the attention of a traveling nobleman. He offered to pay a large sum of money for the octopus fox, as he wanted to present the fox as a gift to his children. When the little girl and her father refused, the nobleman resorted to force and snatched the little foxtopus away!

Life in Captivity

Life with the noble family was nothing like the simple life in the fishing village. The fox was fed rich food, kept groomed and pampered, and held within luxurious walls- but it was painfully stifling. Here, the fox was simply a pet, a plaything. They had a feeling they would never be able to step foot outside the walls ever again, and for decades, they were right. At first, the first generation was quite startled at the fox's unusual lifespan, but their surprise was overcome by thoughts that the fox was more valuable than they'd originally thought. The third generation discovered the foxtopus's standing form, and these thoughts increased by twohold. For generations, the noble family kept an iron fisted grip on their strange transforming fox, like that of an incredibly rare family heirloom, kept hidden from the common eye, but touted behind curtains as a bragging piece to visiting rival families.

But time passed, and as rich folk did they grew tired and bored, and the fox's existence was forgotten by most of the family in but a generation. Meanwhile, life in the household grew stale and hostile. The head of the family had bore no children, and growing tensions over the next heir of the family arose. If the head of the family could not produce an heir, the next in line was their nephew, with whom he had a deep resentment for the boy's father, his own brother. Ah, but then it occurred to him, that there was something he could claim as his heir, and it was something only he knew the existence of. And if it all worked out, he could orchestrate a way for him and his people to continue pulling the strings behind the family for many years to come.

The fox was suddenly pulled from their idle captivity and ordered to masquerade as the head noble's adopted child. They were kept hidden from the rest of the family as they suddenly underwent the grooming of an aristocrat. They were bestowed the name Stephanus, dressed in fine clothes, and kept under severe watch. From etiquette to studying, Stephanus was trained harshly. It was going quite well for the head of the family, there was just one problem. It would be troublesome to explain the fox's tentacled tails and fox like ears that stuck with them in their standing form. That would be of no trouble anymore, however, if they were simply snipped right off.

Escape!

When the cruel realization of his fate to come dawned on him, to be puppeted around by people and made to put on a show in captivity for possible centuries, Stephanus realized he had to escape. In particular, it was the horrifying situation that soon approached him, the "future" for his tails and ears, that struck fear to his core. But how would they escape? It was more than a century since they were pulled into this family, and now the security on them was far stronger than it ever was before. How could they possibly escape now if they couldn't escape before?

Life as a Pirate

The world was his. They were free to go wherever they wished, do whatever they wanted. But what exactly was it that they wanted to do now? As he wandered to and fro, it occurred to him that he wanted to see the sea and fish again. A small hazy memory of fishing in the sea with a little girl and her father came to mind; A memory where they'd pretend to be pirates and ruled the seas and all the fishes in it. That's what he would do! What in the world was freer than a pirate? And so off they went, to find a lead into becoming a pirate! more info TBA
