Elijah Matamis Grant

Born and raised in the United States by his parents, Evangeline "Eva" Matamis and Elliot Grant, and his cousin, Harvey. He was a child that required 24/7 attention, due to being sickly. His father had mornings, Harvey had afternoons after school. and both his parents tucked him into bed.

His father was an editor for a publishing company, but also wrote children's books. And he would read Eli and Harvey the books he had created. Fantasy and Family to enrich those two's imaginations. His work would extend through the afternoons to late at nights, sometimes, so he would miss saying goodnight to Eli and Eva would read Eli the bedtime stories, of which he had also written.

Eli started going to school and daycare. Harvey started going out more and preparing for deployment. Elliot took morning shift and Eva took the night shift. Their routine made sense. Later, Eli got special much slower classes. Reading and writing wasn't Eli's strong suit, he is practically illiterate but prefers listening anyway. Harvey continued on to get a degree while on base but kept in touch through letters. Elliot is about to get another children's book published, so he had to stay over deeper into the afternoon to polish it up. 

One afternoon, staying over at work for a little longer, Eli's mom had to get him from daycare and they waited for Elliot to come home. Doing homework, watching cartoons, eating cheese crackers, and jumping around. Typical day waiting for dad to come home.

But he never did.

• Eli's favorite animal is the rabbit because they would show up on the front lawn and that would be the most exciting thing to happen to Eli that day.
• Eli wears his mom's clothes because they haven't gone shopping in years and he grew out of his baby clothes.
• Eli cut his own hair at home with children's safety scissors, he thinks it's pretty
• Eli starts to stutter if he talks for a long period of time, so he only speaks in short quips.
• He loves cartoons and anything colorful that stimulates his brain.
• Eli loves to play pretend and talks to inanimate objects since no one is home to play with him anymore.
• Eli has asthma and is allergic to animal fur, but loves to run with Joey's dogs.
