"My Jakey-Wakey wouldn't hurt a fly!"

- Olga, after her boyfriend Jake had been caught attempting to murder two elves
Olga Mirakya (16 AGE - ) is a dark Elvish witch originally from Chernaya Reka. Previously, she was a pickpocket and a thief - but now, she works as a fabric weaver in Waldstein Castle.

Appearance

As a master of shapeshifting magic, Olga is capable of radically transforming her appearance if need be. However, in her usual Elvish form, she is a slender young woman with dark skin, featuring a plethora of tattoos, designed to convey a range of protective charms. Her jet-black hair is tied into a pony tail, and she typically wears skin-tight black leather armour - which she designed herself, specifically to accentuate her own figure.

Personality

Normally, Olga is very focused and intense. Her pickpocketing and thieving requires her to be stealthy - and therefore, she'll often avoid conversation with strangers if she can. The only ones she'll speak to are her potential victims - with the aim of distracting them, and tricking them into making themselves vulnerable.

However, this frosty exterior does conceal a fiery temper. When somebody breaks her focus - or otherwise gets on the wrong side of her - they can expect to find themselves on the receiving end of a storm of her magically-conjured lightning bolts. Should these land, they might transform her target's skin into bark - or even transfigure their body into a tree.

Unsurprisingly, Olga has very few friends. However, on the rare occasions when she does bond with someone, she'll expose a completely different side of her personality. She'll completely drop her usual cold demeanour, and become warmly passionate and bubbly around them. She'll shower them with compliments and gifts - and go to any lengths to please them (well beyond what the law will permit...)

Relationships

Jake - Olga's boyfriend. The two of them usually work together to steal from people - as his teleportation magic combines well with her stealthiness. They can't stay in any one location for two long - but, thanks to their powers, they never need to.

Anita - Jake's estranged partner, whom he believed he had killed (in order to marry Olga instead). However, when Olga discovered she was still alive (and, therefore, still officially married to Jake), she became intensely hostile towards her - referring to her by a series of unflattering names.

Frederick - A soldier from Lennart Kingdom, who became Olga's biggest admirer (apart from Jake himself). The first time he saw her, he found her immensely attractive, and was unable to take his eyes off her. However, the attraction was not reciprocated - and Olga has always found him intensely annoying.

Story

Like most dark elves, Olga was born and raised in the remote kingdom of Chernaya Reka. This was the last place on the continent where dark elves existed in substantial numbers: all of the other populations were either driven out of their territory or forced to abandon dark magic. The one surviving population feared that the same thing would happen to them - and therefore, they trained their elves in combat and survival skills from an early age. In Olga's case, this meant specialising in stealth: her teachers noticed that her favourite game was hide-and-seek, in which she often used rudimentary shapeshifting spells to avoid being found. As she grew into adulthood, she came to master this branch of witchcraft, in addition to wood magic - and she would often combine the two disciplines, by disguising herself as a tree in order to escape detection.

Sadly for Olga, when she left school, there was no honest work for her (Chernaya Reka had few natural resources, and had always been the poorest of the Dark Elvish kingdoms). She therefore had no choice but to turn to crime - where her skills in stealth would serve her well. She stole a great deal of money and valuables from her victims - sometimes by misdirecting them, sometimes by seducing them, but mostly by sneaking around them, and pinching their possessions while they weren't looking.

However, she didn't just steal money and other physical objects. She also stole the heart of Jake - a fugitive prince of Lennart Kingdom, who was hiding in Chernaya Reka. He had first settled down with a young Elvish woman, named Anita. However, after marrying her, and making her pregnant with his first child, he happened across Olga, who was also searching for hiding places. When he laid eyes on her, he decided that, not only was she stunningly beautiful, but her shapeshifting magic would also help him to hide from his father, King Thomas. He immediately lost interest in poor Anita; however, he knew there were no grounds for divorce, and therefore, the only way to end the marriage was to kill her. Thus, he conjured up a storm of lightning, and sent it in her direction... but, unbeknownst to him, she managed to escape just in time (using advanced teleportation magic, that he had taught her).

Believing that Anita was dead, Jake then established a relationship with Olga. This proved to be highly productive: he could teleport her to new places, and then she could steal from new victims. With their ill-gotten wealth, they planned to buy a lavish mansion, and marry at an extravagant wedding. However, before this could happen, King Thomas sent a team of his best soldiers to search for Jake - under the leadership of commander Frederick. This party eventually tracked him down in Chernaya Reka - and attempted to bring him back to Lennart Castle. However, when Frederick eventually discovered the shack where Jake was hiding, he found he was far more interested in his girlfriend Olga. He lurked in the shadows, peeping through the window at her while she changed clothes... but his stealth skills were vastly inferior to hers, and she quickly spotted him. Naturally, she was furious - and she shot a stream of lightning at him, transforming his skin into tree bark. He has never been back since.

Several months later, Jake and Olga had almost acquired enough money to get married. However, Jake then received word that an elf called Anita had arrived at Lennart Castle, with a newborn daughter named Kylie. Recognising Anita as his former partner, Jake was horrified: this meant that he was still married to her. Therefore, he devised a plan to sneak into Lennart Castle, and hunt down and kill his wife and daughter. Olga was impressed, and offered to help with this; however, Jake declined her assistance, insisting that he didn't need a girl to help him. Olga confidently agreed - and while he left for Lennart Castle, she stayed at home, eagerly awaiting his return.

After a week and a half, Jake still hadn't returned home - so, Olga decided to make the journey to Lennart Castle herself, to find out what had happened. After asking the guards, she discovered - to her horror - that Jake's mission had failed, and he had been captured and imprisoned. She burst into tears - and insisted that there must have been a mistake, and that her "Jakey-wakey" was being wrongly imprisoned. Predictably, these protestations were unsuccessful - and so, as a last resort, she went to King Tom to plead for his release. Sadly for her, these attempts were met with ridicule, and she was forced to return to Chernaya Reka, distraught and alone.

After losing Jake, Olga simply went back to her old life of thieving and pickpocketing. Her most noteworthy victim was Prince Rommel of Waldstein: she tricked him into starting a romance with her, and then once she'd gained his trust, she scampered off in the middle of the night with half of his valuables. However, she soon found that she wasn't just carrying Rommel's belongings: she was also carrying his child. Nine months later, she gave birth - and, no longer able to maintain a stealthy existence, she returned to Waldstein to turn herself in, along with her newborn daughter Mariya. She was soon found guilty, stripped of her ill-gotten wealth, and sentenced to fifteen years in prison.

A few months later, Prince Rommel (now re-named Ronald) began investigating the whereabouts of his stolen belongings. To his surprise, Olga co-operated with the investigation - and, with the help of the information she provided, Ronald was able to track down most of his lost items. Thanks to her assistance, Ronald agreed to let her out of prison five years early. She had spent the rest of her time in prison learning how to weave cloth - and therefore, once she got out, this became her new line of work. She did occasionally miss the thrill of pickpocketing - but she no longer had the agility for it, and since she could now make money honestly as a weaver, she no longer had any incentive to turn to crime.

Trivia

Olga speaks three languages: Chernic, Modern Archonian, and Waldian.
