Lial is very focused and mostly easy-going, which could be due to the fact that he sleeps very little due to his kids and job. He is very fascinated by buildings and enjoys looking at them when he visits new cities. He also likes to play alot with his kids and his husband.

He is the oldest of 4 children, his parents especially his mom never really wanted to have children, but they couldn't have an abortion either because they live strictly Catholic and God wouldn't want something like that. 

His father tried to raise him as a typical man and was very disappointed when Lial started drawing and said that he would like to be an architect. 

He has a very good relationship with his siblings, who always helped him through the difficult times at home. 

When he was 15, the family was on vacation which is where he met Kyle. The two got along great. When Lial had to go back , they wrote and called almost every day until the two got together six months later, which the parents didn't know about at the time. Lial applied to an architecture school in Kyles home city where he was accepted and moved in with Kyle who was then studying to be a doctor. 

The day he moved out, he told his parents that he and Kyle were dating, for which they berated him and told him never to come back. When lial was 25, the two moved into a condo and sometime later adopted Lilia and Steven. He vowed never to be like his parents, which is why he works from home a lot, to have enough time for his children, especially Lilia. Lial loves his children more than anything and tries to heed everything his parents forgot to teach him
