#054 Altostratus

Alto is a very hyperactive karu that not many can handle for a prolonged period of time. She’s very friendly, always willing to help others when asked, but she’s really able to talk an ear off if you let her. She always wants to meet new karu when able and is almost aggressively social, you’re really going to have to tell her to calm down if you want a proper conversation. Alto habitually wanders and gets lost quite easily which is why she can’t go anywhere alone. She’s also just a bit of a menace, mostly doing favors for her roommates as collateral. The bigger the favor, the bigger the compensation.

-Background-

Though Alto has no clear memory of who had created her she suspects that it was another karu under the assumption of that she doesn’t know a single thing about humans. Early into her existence she was always curious. She was tinkering with technology she found, fixing things, and learning about anything that took her fancy. It was only when she found an out of commission karu that she was determined to find out how to fix them, or at least make another from the parts if they were unsalvageable. This was something she found to be the most fun, and she discovered a strange natural talent in making replacement parts for other karus. Ultimately she was found by Helena and Iago, who insisted she stay in Wildflower Cabin with them, semi-adopting her as if they were their daughter. Alto didn’t mind, she actually took a liking to the couple, but she also definitely needed a place to work on her project.

In the end, she couldn’t fix the original karu she found: the pilot had not survived. Instead she was able to salvage the parts and made Prince, who she tasked to be the guard of the Wildflower Cabin. She lives in the attic having a workshop and bedroom situation, but she’s usually seen in the common living areas.
