The Aether is a space entity resembling a T-rex that formed when a black hole consumed a highly radioactive star, causing the black hole to explode and create a new creature. Driven by its hunger for matter, the Aether traveled to Earth to feed on the planet's many manmade structures. Humans attempted to defeat it by feeding it radiation, but it backfired and caused the Aether to create four more creatures: Dr. Fire, Dr. Water, Dr. Air, and Dr. Earth, the elemental dinosaurs.
The Aether's only goal is to consume all of the matter it can find. Unlike its "children," it acts solely on instinct and has no capacity for higher thought.
The Aether is physically unable to feel sensations anywhere on its body except the inside of its mouth. If weapons such as bullets and missiles are fired into its mouth, the impact will temporarily stun it. The Aether's mouth functions like a miniature black hole, permanently destroying anything it consumes and having the ability to suck in the objects surrounding it.
