Irys's Links
Oh, the Detective! Such a helpful, young man! ... Bit aggressive, too blunt maybe! Irys has slightly mixed feeling about Haspar, but definitely on the positive side. Even if their temperaments clash sometimes... And it feels like he's trying to appear older than he really is. But she can't deny he's knowledgeable, in many fields! AND a man of the law, obviously. And willing to lend her his soft scarf (as a seat) anytime. Well-mannered... just over-eager.
- Forest Spirit. Is capable of using magic and seems to be well-versed in its fighting capabilities.
- Can be awfully annoying with her diva-like temper, but means well. This temper can be quite of use from time to time, as long as she is on the same side.
- Is not used to societal norms, but seems to adjust well, despite her size and looks.
- Has a habit of relying on others for transport (e.g. sitting in Dr. Van Heusten's hat, cuddling up in my scarf), which is...fine.
Jib is a strange, but DEFINITELY powerful child! While Irys can't say she approves of him coming with them to those deadly swamps... he can definitely stand his ground in battle! He seems to be taking on some traits of the team already, too. All of them are so withdrawn, honestly! She feels that he doesn't quite understand the weight of the entire situation, but he insists he just wants to help... Well, she couldn't stop him if she tried. But he deserves to just live a peaceful childhood, like any other child...
The Doctor is a lifesaver, in MANY senses of the word. She wishes she'd met him earlier! And, no offense to the rest of the boys, but thank the deities that there's at least ONE mature adult around. Irys... was never much of a babysitter. Sometimes she finds his stoic demeanor offputting, and he's not much of a people's person, but with all the chaos around, it's nice to have someone this grounded to rely on. They have a lot in common, too.
Daggon is a sweetheart! A very scary one, very big claws. Irys usually would not make friends with such folk, but despite everything she felt a bit of kinship with him right away - they're both outsiders in Otari, after all! ...Doesn't mean she trusted him immediately, though. And this fellow definitely values his privacy. *And* money. Can't blame him, though! She definitely puts her trust in him now, and knows exactly where to look should she ever need a bodyguard for a day or two.
Daggon finds Irys very confusing. She's tiny, overly talkative and overly emotional, so by rights she should be either frustratingly annoying or beneath his notice. As it transpires, however, he has recently found himself highly invested in her mistreatment, and would hurt a LOT of people to make her stop feeling sad. He has no idea why and would rather not reflect on what this all might mean. He also isn't ready to admit how it makes him feel accepted and part of a team when she perches on his shoulder, and it is likely that he will die without acknowledging this to anyone else or himself.
