Daggon's Links
Jib is a child. Daggon is a Daggon. Therefore Daggon must do everything in his power to protect the Jib, even if Jib doesn't want that protection and feels undermined or patronised by Daggon being so overbearing in his protection. Recent events have forced Daggon to contend with the fact that Jib is not helpless and doesn't need a bodyguard, and that perhaps there are some unresolved feelings that Daggon has been projecting onto Jib and that could do with a long hard think. He is unsure how to approach Jib now that he has thrown a wrench into the child's found family relationship.
Daggon finds Irys very confusing. She's tiny, overly talkative and overly emotional, so by rights she should be either frustratingly annoying or beneath his notice. As it transpires, however, he has recently found himself highly invested in her mistreatment, and would hurt a LOT of people to make her stop feeling sad. He has no idea why and would rather not reflect on what this all might mean. He also isn't ready to admit how it makes him feel accepted and part of a team when she perches on his shoulder, and it is likely that he will die without acknowledging this to anyone else or himself.
Daggon is a sweetheart! A very scary one, very big claws. Irys usually would not make friends with such folk, but despite everything she felt a bit of kinship with him right away - they're both outsiders in Otari, after all! ...Doesn't mean she trusted him immediately, though. And this fellow definitely values his privacy. *And* money. Can't blame him, though! She definitely puts her trust in him now, and knows exactly where to look should she ever need a bodyguard for a day or two.
Daggon hasn't known the good doctor for that long, but he would trust him with his life. Which is convenient, because that comes up increasingly often these days. Their first major interaction fundamentally shaped Daggon's feelings about the doc, as one of Daggon's closely held secrets was forcibly revealed, and as far as Daggon is aware, the doc has kept this information to himself ever since. He might not say it out loud, but Daggon would be crushed if he ever felt he'd disappointed the doctor.
Daggon would like to hate Haspar. He would like to want Haspar to go away. Unfortunately, he is a man (lizard thing) who respects talent and ability where he finds it, and it has come to his unavoidable attention that Haspar is damn good at what he does. In fact, when Daggon has a problem and fears what the doc might say/think, Haspar is the person he turns to. He has even found himself considering whether Haspar might be able to assist with a major problem he has. But of course, that's ludicrous and immediately dismissed every single time. Except maybe...?
