Lately Emmet has been keeping to himself. He doesn't purposely isolate himself, but working helps distract him from the memories that threaten to haunt him. Those close to him would say he is gentle, but for the sake of caution, as if he were scared to do harm to those around him. While he may seem to be a quiet man, he can become quite passionate when asked about alchemy and the many other sciences. He is excited by the pursuit of knowledge and readily praises those that want to learn. Out of habit he maintains a neat environment and can sometimes be caught casually fixing little things around him like straightening a crooked frame.

A lover of the sciences. Although not at the top of his class, Emmet had made pursuing a life of research his goal. It was in the academy that he discovered alchemy, which he would later adopt as his primary scholarly focus. After some years he would be mentored in the ways of alchemy and eventually begin his own research. He spent much of his early adulthood engulfed in his research. While he did not expect to pick up an apprentice of his own during that time, with enough persistence he allowed a young scholar to study under him. Emmet had been won over by their enthusiasm to learn, though he had rejected to teach them many times before. The two would work together for several years before his apprentice lost their life in an accident while trying to obtain ingredients. Kidnapped by a group insisting that the alchemist make them a mixture that even he deemed impossible to create. Unable to meet their demands they spitefully killed his apprentice as punishment. Since then Emmet has refused to involve others in his work and keeps a safe distance from anyone that is tempted to browse any of his current projects.
