An individual who never once dug himself into a life of crime since birth, now finds himself ruling a Chinese syndicate for the rest of his life. Hao is the crime boss of the Laohu Triad, a Chinese organization, who makes their headquarters in the Mexicali area.

The Porcelain Dragon does is not just given solely for what he wears. He is perhaps not as strong as his more physically capable soldiers, he's known to never mentally break by whatever trauma is given to him. The horrors he's dealt with while being in the Laohu never affected him and wouldn't even bat an eye to it.

Despite being a crime gang, Hao considers the Triad as his family. Abandoned by his original family before in America, he finds his commitment in the underground - where many find his company appreciated and comforted.

About

Perhaps because of how mentally resilient he can be, it is perhaps the reason why he can be... emotionally inept. Hao is quite the levelheaded man, more accurately stoic. Others believe, only because he is a leader of a Chinese Syndicate, consider him emotionless and coldhearted, but he is far from that. He acts as if he feels nothing for human emotion, when in reality, such humane decisions will end up reflecting on his own actions later. His way with words are sometimes unconventional, or just brutally honest - hence why many find him intimidating as a leader. His ultimatum as a Dragon Head is to pertain the decency of peace they have around them, but to stop corruption created by other crime syndicates - without resorting to the use of the law.

  • Hao never knew he would become the leader of the Laohu Tribe, not until he was kidnapped by them and was forced to take the role under the decision of the former Dragon Head.
    > Literally had a bet and beaten an old man in a game of Mahjong because he was bored. He had no knowledge that the old man was a Triad leader in the first place.
    > When he took the role, there was a civil war within the group. Only the loyalists sided with him while the other half had attempted to kill him as they thought he was incapable of leading.
  • Hao was born in California by an American father and Chinese mother under the name Jasper.
    > He is fluent in both languages (including Mandarin and Cantonese).
    > He doesn't get along well with his father. He prefers the support from his mother and their side of the family. Hence why he was also given a Chinese name 'Hao'
    > Under certain circumstances, perhaps regarding his life choices that he made, he was kicked out by his father. He decided to take his family name from his mother's side.
  • It's hard to make this bitch cry.
    > Trust me, they've tried.
  • He has no or little interest in being committed to someone, romantically.
    > He has had several sexual partners but none of them he had full interest in taking a step further. Though he still has contact with these partners, including Lin's mother.
  • His gang is disguised under a well known business in porcelain making.
    > Obviously... he likes porcelain vases and table wear.
  • Doesn't like getting dirty or getting violent. He has a history of being very clean except for one instance - in which it involved his child.

Backstory

Jasper was born in California with a decent family that remained stable in both their relationship and finance. At first he was satisfied with the way things went, but only until him and his mother caught his father cheating with another woman. Despite that their parents mended their relationship, Jasper could no longer see his father the same way again. Their relationship was strained and he preferred his mother's company and the extended family that connected with her.
He spend his most of his childhood and teenage years with his mother, and her brothers and sisters. Enjoying the difference in culture that was introduced to him despite being only half of what they were. He actively was learning more of their culture such as learning how to read and write in their language, and cooking as well. He was given the name "Hao" by his grandfather because of how often he wore the color white.

As time went by, he found little time spending his free leisure with others during school. Despite he was well educated and well versed in academics (he achieved valedictorian and graduated a year early), it wasn't enough to appease his father apparently. However it didn't matter to him at all and could care less of what his father thought about him. In fact, he found satisfaction and angering his own dad, and often did the things that he was against during his years in college - Sleeping with men, gambling, throwing parties at their house. He continued to do this until he was finally kicked out by his own father. Until then, he continued his education in University while living in his Grandfather's home, but living there was short ended when he made a bet with one of his Grandfather's friends.

"If I win, I want whatever is currently valuable to you," Hao says. His opponent laughs in amusement and happily obliges.

When Hao won a series of games with him, he never got the prize immediately. The old man simply left and never came back to give the man what he valued. Though he considered it as a joke in the first place and Jasper didn't mind it at all.

Not until he was kidnapped by a group of strangers during the night after he celebrated his graduation from University. He woke up surrounded by a clan of threatening men, who all bowed to him when he awaken. Apparently the old man that he had beaten in a game of Mahjong had passed away and was immediately given to Hao - who didn't know a thing regarding his connection of the Laohu Triad.

(Story) The Prodigal

The journey of Hao gaining full and total control over the Laohu Tribe is long and arduous. He prefers to not speak of it. When he did claim control and defeated those that opposed him, he remained a wonderful leader and quite a merciful one. Occasionally he'd often enjoy himself in luxury by using his wealth to get him what he wanted, one of them having a few sexual moments with a woman/man or two.

Though it was an accident, he was told that one of his former partners gave birth to their son. Though still not interested in pursuing that woman, he had full desires in wanting to take care of his newborn child immediately. He was allowed to his Leng, in exchange of letting his mother live with him and gain his financial support - as long as it benefitted the his son.

When his son grew, Hao was more worried about what would be going on beyond the Triad's home. And for sure the remnants of the old members of the Laohu, insane loyalists to the former Dragon Head, would be on the hunt for his child and keep him hostage. Thankfully his best friend, Julian, as dedicated to Hao since they were friends, offered his own child (of the same age) to protect Leng from any dangers in the future.
Wanting to be a decent father, he allowed Leng to do as he pleased when he grew older. But only as long as his son would come back home sometimes. Especially when the future of the Laohu Tribe would be passed onto him when he passes.

Relationships

Leng  [ Son ]

The birth of his only son, Leng, was an unexpected event... but never did he once think that he regretted it. He doesn't act like it, but Leng is one that he treasures greatly. Only those in the Triad know about Hao having a child, and anyone outside of the group has no knowledge of Leng whatsoever. Leng even has another alias, but sometimes it won't be enough to protect him when he leaves the Triad to peruse the world.

Julian [WIP]  [ Friend ]

Hao's right-hand man. Julian had never left Hao's side since he saved him from having his life ruined back in high school. Many see Julian as a loyal dog that follows Hao around, but the man sees and treats him more as a friend than a... pet.  Taishen often has no choice but to rely on Julian because of how physically capable he can be, but he only wishes he doesn't have to constantly do it. Yet, without Julian, he wouldn't be able to take full control of the Laohu.

Nero  [ Friend's Son ]

Despite that Nero is Julian's son, Hao likes to consider Nero as his own. He wishes that Julian wouldn't be so hard on his only child and tries as much as he can, as a leader, to spare him as little pain he gets from his missions. Yet, he cannot entirely stop his father from these painful consequences he supposed deserves for when he couldn't uphold his own part of the mission. He often has to go behind Julian's back just to make sure Nero gets the proper care he needs.
