Biography

Owen Draktetos is friendly, professional, and mature—everything you’d expect from a bulwark doctor, yet he goes about his days mostly alone. Aside from the regular check-ups and occasional emergencies, Owen is rarely seen conversing with others. He never shows up to parties and rejects invitations to restaurants, instead choosing to eat alone in his office. As a doctor, Owen is respected in his field, but as a person, Owen is an anomaly. Much like the abominations that plague the country, Owen is mysterious in nature.

Being able to hold a smooth conversation with him is an achievement few have obtained. Owen is notorious for his eccentric behavior and odd ways of talking. He speaks with a slow, soft tone, always pausing a considerable amount before giving a response. Although he rarely expresses any emotions—in fact, some would say he can’t feel any emotions at all—Owen always wears an eerie grin across his face, even in the most grim of situations. His monotone voice makes it difficult to understand how he’s feeling, leading to many regrettable misunderstandings between him and his colleagues. The bizarre demeanor Owen carries about has made him the target of many unsavory rumors.

After the sudden disappearance of Rocky, a bulwark known for being close to Owen, whispers of Owen being a murderer have circled around the office. Authorities have questioned Owen on the case but found him to be clear of any suspicions. No evidence points towards him having any relation to her disappearance. Despite his proven innocence, many people are still uneasy around him in fear of being the next bulwark to go missing. In addition to the other rumors about hemomancers being the cause of all the missing bulwarks, Owen’s reputation has gone from the strange guy who eats alone at lunch to a potential psychopath with fresh skeletons in his closet.

No reasonable person would dare befriend Owen, a suspected criminal and possible hemomancer, for fear of putting themselves or their loved ones in danger. Luckily for Owen, Zach Kallikos is not a reasonable person.

Relationships

Zach Kallikos [Friend?]

While it’s difficult to pinpoint Owen’s true feelings for Zach, it’s clear that he enjoys his presence. There is a certain mood between them that welcomes intimacy and security. Owen trusts Zach with personal secrets he’s never told anyone else. With the bonus of Zach being a certified monster killer, Owen feels truly safe in Zach’s company.

Mai Kallikos [Co-Worker]

Owen has no strong opinion on Mai; he sees her as simply a co-worker, yet there seems to be unspoken tension between them. It’s not the normal level of tension he has with everyone, but a heavy, dark one. He can sense resentment in Mai’s voice when they speak, but chooses not to point it out in fear of causing more tacit conflict.

Rocky Coslias [Friend...]

Before the mysterious disappearance of Rocky, the two bulwarks were regularly seen conversing in the break room. It was a very unusual friendship to witness, as both Owen and Rocky didn’t seem like the type to hang out together. Nonetheless, they were close to each other until the day Rocky went missing.

Monique Chrysnike [Ex-Lover]

Having previously dated in high school for 2 years, there is an immense amount of awkward tension between Owen and Monique. Their relationship ended very messy, with a huge fight breaking out between them. In the present day, they have found themselves working in the same office after avoiding each other for almost a decade. Owen wishes to move past it, but it’s difficult when Monique refuses.

Maverick Eukos [Ex-Lover]

Being forced to work alongside an ex-lover is awkward enough, but when you must work with two ex-lovers who happen to be best friends with each other, it is a whole ‘nother level of awkwardness. Their relationship ended 2 years ago, along with any sliver of hope Owen had for any future romantic endeavors.

Yana Kyriloas [Co-Worker]

Yana is Owen’s favorite co-worker. She’s friendly and very socially adept. As a result, she understands Owen’s boundaries when it comes to socializing without having it explicitly stated. She never pushes Owen to open up to her or force him to go out of his comfort zone. Their mutual respect for one another makes their partnership run very smoothly.

Raquel Epion [Superior]

The head of the doctor's department along with Owen’s boss. He finds Raquel’s controlling attitude extremely irritating as she’s never satisfied with his work. She’s always criticizing every little thing he does and regularly goes back on her words. Although Owen is aware that Raquel’s criticisms aren’t meant to be a personal attack on him, he can’t help but dread any instance of Raquel trying to be friendly with him.

• Always wears a simple white bracelet on his right hand and a black and a white ring on his middle finger.
