Personality

Gustlik is an adventurous, young boy who likes to spend the most of his time outside – climbing trees, running around Giszowiec and Nikiszowiec, playing soccer with other kids. Despite his young age, the Silesian is a smart person, who often displays an out-of-the-box way of thinking. He frequently spends time with Gynek, even if there’s an 8-year age gap between them. He stole a bread loaf from a bakery once.

Blurb

Gustlik (full name: Gustaw Aniołowicz) is a side character in A Ballad About Silesia during the 1920s arc. Everybody calls him Gustlik - though calling him a “damn rascal” may be more appropriate as he tends to bring trouble whenever he goes. He’s the son of Ewald and Ruta Aniołowicz, as well as the nephew of Helena Dytko.

Gustlik was born on November 24th, 1909, in what is now part of the city of Katowice, which was under the Prussian rule back then. He lives with his big family in Giszowiec (currently estate of Katowice city). Since the Silesian Uprisings broke out, Gustlik has considered Marcin and Hanik his idols and often talks about how he wants to be like them when he grows up. His father was killed in the Second Silesian Uprising, shot by a sniper fighting for Germany.
