Daiyu was born to a pair of successful jewelers in Liyue. The couple was ecstatic to finally have a child and an heir to their business. However, Daiyu was born sickly. As a result, she lived an extremely sheltered life and did not interact with many people outside her parents and doctors. One day when Daiyu was sick in bed, she was on the brink of death. She suddenly felt filled with fear and regret that she would die without ever having made meaningful relationships with others. In this moment, Daiyu was given a cryo vision. The blessing helped her not only recover but grow stronger. While Daiyu is still weaker than most, she is healthy enough to live a less sheltered life, and Daiyu is eager to do so.
