Timeline:

Childhood:

Rain was born in a small house deep in a forest, secluded from civilization. As an only child, Rain was very much loved and cared for by her parents, and because Rain didn't know anyone else, she became closer to them that the usual child. Although Rain occasionally hung out with a cool ghost creature that she sometimes saw in the forest, the bond with her parents was unbreakable. Her parents were great warriors, and were ecstatic when Rain showed both great interest and promise in the art of being a warrior. Training began, and Rain excelled in the craft, always eager to push herself and learn new styles of fighting. She won battles and lost them, but never lost her interest. She even crafted a custom scythe with her father's help, which she still has today. However, tragedy struck. The house was attacked by a group of vicious monsters while Rain's father was away. Rain's mother told Rain to flee, promising that she would be able to fight them off. This was not the case. Rain and her father both were devastated by the loss, and Rain fell into a deep spiral of depression and self harm. She began training in ways that were harmful to her physical health in an attempt to heal her mental health. Eventually, she stopped these practices, but not without lasting effects. Rain had learned much darker ways of combat, just how far she could push herself, and the cruelty she was capable of when facing up against monsters. All this served to strain her relationship with her father, and this could never be undone.

The Beginnings of a Village:

Rain's relationship with her father was beyond repair. Despite how close they had been before, Rain just couldn't stand to stay in the same house as him anymore. The silence between them, only serving to make bigger the festering wounds of hurt that had been opened by words unsaid, the house Rain had grown up in had become her prison. And so she left to start anew, create new bonds and new friendships. For Rain had gone on trips to cities before, as her parents wanted to teach her diversity. And there the dragon had made friends, friends who she wouldn't soon forget. So when Rain decided to start her own village, she invited these friends with her, presenting them with a new life and job opportunities galore, hoping they would join her village. All but the ghost she had known from her childhood joined, as the peculiar blue creature had mysteriously disappeared. Slowly but surely, the village-now named Silverflecked Village-began to grow. More buildings and relationships were built, and the place was soon bustling with activity. Rain accepted all into her village as long as they swore never to harm anyone who lived there, offering new beginnings to those who wanted to start a new adventure or just leave behind memories and transgressions from the past. As the village began to expand outward, Rain realized they were getting quite close to where her old home used to be. Where the grave of her mother was. Rain visited her childhood home in hopes of inviting her father to live in Silverflecked Village, despite having not spoken to him for a while, and was dismayed to find the house abandoned. Rain still visits her mother's grave. It was at said grave that she promised to never kill anyone but monsters, and to protect her village with everything she had, even at the cost of her life.

The Rise of an Enemy:

Of course, not everything was going well. Along with the constant threat of monsters that lurked in the forest surrounding the village, there was also a more sinister, a more cruel being watching over them. For this creature had grown an unhealthy obsession with Rain, and would stop at nothing to make her feel the same. He would do anything to make her realize the evil within and join him, even if it meant killing everyone she loved. He stalked the growing village, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Rain was first notified that someone was targeting them when one of her best friends, one of the first to join her village, had disappeared. Rain was sure her friend had gone missing for a reason, a kidnap, because there was minimal sign of a struggle and no blood. Definitely not a monster. Rain enlisted the help of one of her friends, a wolf, to help track down the missing hyena, and was lead to an abandoned laboratory. There, she was met with the culprit and his family, the mysterious blue ghost she had known from her childhood. Sightmare. Rain had arrived just in time to stop him from performing some cruel experiment on her friend, and was expectantly enraged. Sightmare tried to escape by stabbing his 'son' (the relationship wasn't biological, but the young creature could still be considered an unwanted disgrace of a son to Sightmare) and turning into his physical form to escape the wrath of his wife, but Rain did not falter in the chase. The battle between the two was quick but powerful, ending with both falling of the cliff that the laboratory was placed on. Rain refused to let Sightmare fly off, breaking his wings before using some rope she had grabbed to tie around his neck. Finally, Rain let go of him and began to fly just before the two had reached the top of the trees, watching as Sightmare fell to his doom. The end of the rope was caught in the branches, and the neon creature was effectively hanged. But to Rain's horror, Sightmare's physical form was only made of magic, so his spiritual form was still alive, free to make another physical form when he had regained enough magic. The only way to kill him completely was to kill his spectral form, which Rain was not capable of doing at the moment. And while most would take this defeat as a warning, the battle had shown Sightmare just how cruel Rain could be if he hurt her villagers, increasing his obsession tenfold. The games had only just begun.

The Golden Age and Betrayal:

Silverflecked Village had grown much more than Rain had previously expected. The blooming settlement was prospering, and hardly anyone was displeased. Trade was abundant and flourishing, there were restaurants with delicious food, many places to sightsee, and Rain was even able to get funding for a school. The village had even begun to develop its own culture, with cuisine and activities that couldn't be found anywhere else. It was needless to say that Silverflecked Village offered a home for just about anyone, welcoming all sorts of newcomers with open arms. However, even with the warriors dutifully protecting the village from any outside threats, there were still those already inside the village who wished to do Rain harm. And one fateful day, one of those traitors decided to act on it. Rain had been alone, standing on the same cliff that the abandoned laboratory was located at. The gator snuck up on Rain, carrying a highly deadly artifact that he would use to seal her soul. Rain didn't notice the gator until it was two late. As her soul left her body, ahe could only watch as the gator murdered her. With a charmed sword, the gator stabbed her in the midection, then one of her eyes. In his frenzy, the gator also made quick work of her horns and one of her feet as well, though it was a bit overkill. They only laughed as Rain's lifeless body fell off the cliff, and her spirit was trapped in the vase. With only vast darkness surrounding her, Rain was left to contemplate what had gone wrong.  She should have been more careful, she should have kept a closer eye on the gator, she should have known if two dangerous artifacts had been stolen from a museum somewhere. The gator must have been planning this for months now, how had she missed it? But all hope had not been lost. Despite the extreme magical properties of the vase and sword, Rain did not die. It is much harder to kill a dragon rather than a regular animal, after all. Her body lay in a coma, but not dead. All Rain needed was for someone to free her soul from the vase and heal her. And surprisingly, this generosity came from Sightmare.

The spirit had never ceased watching Rain, and certainly wouldn't let her die to some random gator. He stole the vase from the gator and smashed it to pieces, freeing Rain's soul. And with her surprised guidance, she led him to her broken 'corpse', and using the power of magic-infused rubies, he healed her. Of course, Rain didn't look entirely the same-she now had red spikes on her arms, legs, and face, and her horns were now entirely red as well. Her missing left eye was just a hole of pitch blackness with a singular glowing red dot for a pupil, and her missing foot was now entirely made up of translucent red magic. Edgy, sure, but Sightmare thought it suited her. Together, the two stormed the gator's home and attacked him, successfully taking him down. Sightmare wanted him dead for daring to try and kill his Rainy Day, but Rain only took his eyes. A more than fair punishment, given the circumstances. When Rain reluctantly asked Sightmare what he would like as payment for his help, the spirit predictably only wanted her love. For her to join him. But Rain could never do this-she could never love Sightmare. Although unhappy, Sightmare didn't try to ask for anything else or even threaten her. He only left. After all, there were still games to plan.

A Brief Period of Peace, and what Ended it:

Despite nearly dying, Rain was still a good leader. The Golden Age was over, as everyone was still a bit shocked over the events that had taken place, but Silverflecked Village was still growing even if it wasn't growing as fast as it was before. Even though she now looked much creepier than before, Rain was still as kind as ever, her undying loyalty to her villagers never waning. To a dragon, the period of peace that came after her near demise was short, although it was a suitable amount of time for everyone else there. But of course, it was not meant to last. Out of the blue, Silverflecked Village received a visitor that Rain had not seen for a long time: her father. Of course, this shocked the gray dragon-where had he been all this time? Why had he abandoned the home she had grown up in? Why did he suddenly decide to reappear after all this time? Did he even still love her? The reunion started off with a shocked and awkward silence that extended until dinner, evolved into a raging argument with much screaming and shouting and the release of pent up emotions, and ended in tears and hugging. It took a few weeks, but soon Rain and her father were almost acting as if they had never had a falling out, though the bond hadn't fully reformed. When Rain asked him what had brought him to the village, her father explained that he had been looking for her the whole time. He had never expected her to stay so close to home, and had spent his time searching in bigger towns and cities. But not long ago, he had received a mysterious letter detailing Rain's whereabouts. And although he knew it might be a fake, he was willing to take the chance if only it meant seeing his child again. With this, Rain's father became a welcome addition in Silverflecked Village, and for a couple months everyone was happy and everything was peaceful. But little did Rain know that a certain someone had planned this all out, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

The night Sightmare decided to complete his plan was on the anniversary of Rain's mother's death. Rain and her father were taking a nighttime walk, as was Rain's tradition, to visit the grave. Sightmare lay hidden in the treetops, watching them, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Just before the two dragons had reached the grave, Sightmare struck. Normally, Rain would be able to easily take on Sightmare, but he had been planing this for months. He plan would not go awry now. Monsters of all shapes and sizes suddenly came running out of the trees, barreling towards Rain and her father. Rain fought like a demon, showing no mercy, desperate to keep her father safe. No, no, she would not let this happen again. She wouldn't, she couldn't. But despite Rain's vastly superior fighting skills, the numbers of monsters were too great. Just like a hoard of fiercely determined creatures could take down something much larger and more dangerous, the monsters were able to separate Rain from her father despite the massive losses in their ranks. Like this, Rain's father had no chance of surviving. He had gone soft, preferring to give up peacefully rather than fight, he had lost his skills. The dragon hadn't picked up a weapon since the day his wife died, as they reminded him too much of the family he had lost. It was Sightmare who struck the final blow, sauntering up behind Rain's father and stabbing him in the back with the same charmed sword the gator had attacked Rain with. Seeing this, the monsters retreated to leave the three alone-their work was done. Rain was sobbing, hysterical, as she tried to patch up her father's would, but the damage was done. It was too late to save him now. Smiling, he left the world, bidding Rain a few last, sad words of farewell before his untimely death. Sightmare expected Rain to go crazy, insane, to fly into a heartbroken rage, to beat him until there was nothing left but a pulp and then join him so that hate and bloodlust would  fill the emotional void. But this didn't happen. Instead, Rain seemed to shut down, to lock up her feelings and stare at Sightmare with empty, emotionless, dead eyes. Sightmare was the one who became enraged, for though he tried to make Rain react by attacking her and hurting her further, he could elicit no discernible reaction. Finally he gave up, leaving Rain alone after yelling about how pitiful she was. Rain buried her father and then didn't leave her room for a week, hugging the scythe she had crafted with her father and the bat plush of the first pet she ever had, a red and black bat given to her by her mother.

The War:

Sightmare had gone insane, even more than before, if that was even possible. He was now faced with the inevitable fact that he would never be able to make Rain love him. All the games, all the experiences they had shared together, how he spent month upon month planing to kill Rain's father, all for nothing! While Rain was slowly recovering with the help of her friends, Sightmare was only falling down a psychopathic downwards spiral that could only end in madness in death. So when Sightmare decided to use dark arts to summon an evil entity that would raise an army of creatures composed entirely of fear and used them to declare war on Rain, the dragon honestly wasn't surprised. In fact, now Rain was at peace. This was the final game, the final battle. If she completed this challenge, it would all be over. No one else would have to get hurt. Rain and Sightmare could never coexist, one-or both-of them had to die in order for there to be peace. There was simply no other option. The battle was violent, with all of the villagers of Silverflecked Village battling against Sightmare, his followers, and the creatures. Even with Rain leading the charge, there was no doubt that the war would have fatal consequences. Rain fought like a monster that you only hear about in stories where the villain is unstoppable, but this time she was the villain. And because the creatures' attacks were based off of how afraid their opponent was, they couldn't even hurt Rain, because the leader had nothing to fear. And so Rain gave it her all, using every last ounce of energy within her to protect her villagers. In the end, Silverflecked Village was winning, and Sightmare's forces were beginning to retreat. The evil being that Sightmare had summoned left, taking its dark army with it. Soon, it was just Sightmare and his followers, the various traitors from Silverflecked Village, left. Sightmare, who was still in his physical, offered a few last hateful words of reproach and vengeance before Rain ended him with one quick swing of her scythe, and he was but a ghost once more. The villagers of Silverflecked Village cheered and rejoiced, for they thought that they had prevailed, when sadly that was not the case.

The Fall of a Leader:

Rain was a dragon, a species known for being hard to kill and able to grow to great sizes. And she was also a great leader, one who could fight like no other and held an undying love and loyalty for her villagers. Rain was a hero, a legend. But even Rain was mortal. The war had left her weak, and the dragon was not without wounds. In the mere moments that Silverflecked Village was in celebration directly after the war, one of Sightmare's apprentices decided to strike. It was a false-wyvern by the name of Balthazar, a species known for being a distant relative of dragons, not as hard to kill and not able to grow as large but still deadly vicious and violent. And in this moment of vulnerability, Balthazar struck, a quick killing blow to a major artery; the neck. While limbs are different, no creature can survive long once the neck has been severed. Even still it took Rain a few minutes to die, gasping for breath as her friends desperately pleaded for her not to go and doctors tried to heal her. But it was already too late. With a soft smile and dry eyes filled with warmth and love, Rain let go of her last shuddering breath and died. But her battle was not over yet, because who else was waiting right by her but Sightmare? Sightmare didn't even try to convince Rain to join him, and immediately attacked her. They fought each other like savages, neither using their weapons, each taking it out on the other the hate and toil they had endured. But in the end, Rain was the victor. She did not gloat at Sightmare as he faded from existence, didn't taunt him for his loss. In fact, she only said goodbye. And when the last wisp had finally disappeared, Rain smiled, a great burden having finally been lifted off of her shoulders. The beast had fallen. She could finally be happy. Though her life had been fleeting by dragon standards, a flame snatched away and put out before it could even fully bloom and show off its light, Rain was content. Satisfied. Happy at last. As a ghost, Rain was still as busy as she had always been when she was still alive, but it was even better now that she couldn't get tired. Visiting old friends mourning her loss no matter where they may be (Rain does not care if they are residing in a place filled with spirit-eating creatures, she will still visit them), leading lost travelers out of the woods, making sure everything is running smoothly in the village and even offering advice to the new leader. And slowly but surely, things began to return to normal. A statue was put up in the middle of the village to remember Rain, and is surrounded by flowers put there by residents of the village everyday. The day of the war is now recognized as an official holiday of Silverflecked Village, as well as a memorial for their first leader.

Notable Relstionships:

Blue: Blue is a gray and white wolf who has had a crush on Rain for as long as he can remember. Rain pleads ignorance to this fact, although in actuality she finds it very obvious, but pretends to remain oblivious as to not ruin their friendship and break Blue's heart. Blue is too shy to tell her how he feels, anyways.

Sightmare: Rain despises Sightmare above everything else. Her ultimate goal is to kill him-why wouldn't she want to kill the evil being that has hurt her villagers, lives inflicting pain, and is too insane to know the meaning of mercy? Sightmare seems to have an obsession with her, and wants to make Rain embrace her dark side so she will finally enjoy the killing of innocents and 'love' him back. Rain is completely sold on the belief that Sightmare cannot feel love, and is simply a crazed psychopath.

Joey: Rain both respects and fears Joey, and considers the false-wyvern similar to a friend, although the dragon isn't exactly sure where their relationship stands. They met when Rain was captured by the false-wyverns when Sightmare led her into a trap, and Rain was forced to fight others in order to stay alive. Rain claims it was only to stay on the good side of the heiress so she wouldn't die, but she has admitted that killing the traitorous false-wyverns wasn't too bad, since Rain considered them to be monsters and she only kills monsters. However, after Rain was released, the dragon began to wonder if the attention she was fighting for was purely for survival. After both of them were dead, for some reason Rain stopped fearing Joey altogether, though she has never stopped being off-put or at least slightly uncomfortable by Joey's extremely violent nature. They still maintain a positive if somewhat shaky relationship, though Rain does do her best to accept Joey for who she is, and Rain allows Joey into Silverflecked Village at any time with open arms. The dragon believes that the two passed leaders are in a state of mutual resect for one another, although she is never really sure if Joey ever considered her a friend, or even thinks of her as one now.

Kariah: A spider-taur who Rain met while trapped in Joey's Hive. Despite having never met an insect or arachnid before, the two became friends despite the rather perilous situation they were in. After they parted ways following the end of the events at the Hive, they continued to stay in touch with Rain using her pet bat Luna to carry letters, and occasionally they have even visited each other at their respective villages. All and all, Rain considers Kariah a good friend, despite the spider-taur's tendency to talk very loudly.

Starscape Child:

Abilities:

Scythe-Weilding: Rain is adept at many styles of fighting and can decently handle almost any weapon, but one weapon that she always has by her side is her trusty scythe. Rain built the thing with her father when she was younger, and despite making modifications to it, she has never gotten rid of the scythe. When using it, Rain can be quite deadly, and if she is fighting to kill then it is best to attempt to flee, for Rain hardly ever misses. But don't touch the scythe. Seriously, that thing is one of Rain's most precious possessions, and if someone even touches it Rain will fly into a rage.

Fire Magic: Being a dragon, Rain is naturally gifted with the use of fire magic. As well as being able to breathe fire, she can summon highly-flammable fireballs and launch them at people. She can even set items on fire without destructing them, and use them to attack her opponents so that they receive a nasty burn. However, since Rain much prefers physical combat with her scythe and only uses her magic if it is necessary, not many know about this ability.

Dark Magic: The only other magic Rain can use naturally is dark magic. She was always moderately well at it, although she hardly ever used it, however the skill really blossomed when Sightmare used the magical properties of rubies to heal her out of a death-like state. This includes summoning weapons made entirely of magic to harm others, and causing gems to sprout up out of the ground and stab her opponent whenever Rain presses her hand to the ground. Rain isn't too sure about using dark magic, and although she does use a bit to increase the strength, durability, blade sharpness and overall deadly nature of her scythe, she tends to stay away from it.

Soul-Reaping: Rain is part of a subspecies of dragons that can reap souls. They are born with the ability but not the skill to do so, and through training and growing older then can become better at it. The fact that Rain can do so is only known by her, spirits, and those that can communicate with the ethereal plane. Rain uses this ability to seek out lost souls that are trapped walking the physical world and then send them to the spirit world. The spirit world is known as Paradise, as I is where most spirits go when they die. It is a heavenly place where spirits can reunite with loved ones lost and never be cold, hungry or displeased again. Most spirits can enter and leave this place as they wish. Of course, bad spirits usually go to the Underworld, but no one knows what it looks like. When a spirit is killed, which must happen in the physical realm because ghosts cannot be hurt in the spirit world, they will fade away forever but may eventually be reincarnated.

Weakness: Of course, like all creatures, Rain has a weakness. This comes in the form of ice magic, water magic, actually just water in general. Rain hates water with a fiery passion, for she is weak to it above everything else. It doesn't help that she nearly drowned in a pond when she was younger, causing her actually have aquaphobia in addition to hate for the substance.

Job/Hobbies:

Other Things:

Had Rain lived a full life without having being killed early, she would have grown much bigger and more powerful than before. Even when she does Rain was much bigger than the average anthro wolf, and much stronger, quicker, and more dangerous as well.

Rain can only be described as a perfectionist workaholic. Getting things done week before they are do, planning holiday events that she does all the work for, and just generally making sure everything is running smoothly by triple-checking everything. Even if there's nothing left to be done, Rain will find something to get done.
