Soledad (Godscorpse)

Soledad is likely one of the kindest grims someone could meet in their lives. A wandering trailkeeper, they are a mysterious, benign figure that guides the lost home, often in the form of an oddly speckled sheepdog with two blank, white eyes- and a very large on on their chest. They keep themself purposefully anonymous to strangers they meet, though those in their hometown are accustomed to seeing their resident protector. They are very enthusiastic about the simple things in life, and participate in "people activities" as much as possible.

To Strangers:

To a stranger, they are a folklore figure from local legend, the century-old grim dog who leads people home when the fog is thick and creatures howl into the air. There are many interpretations and beliefs surrounding it- don't look it in its eye, don't feel fear or it'll eat you- but these end up mostly being campfire stories to scare a child or two.

Outside of their quadruped form in regular life, they are simply people-oriented with a strong sense of justice. They often clean up for the mishaps around town- and true to their nature, do manage many burials when the rare death occurs. When serious trouble arises, they have been known to act as executioner, but they do not enjoy the role. Outsiders sometimes find it odd when they come across them tilling fields or handling livestock, while other Grims sometimes see them as a weak suck-up or an honorable figure.

To Friends:

To those that get to know them, it's clear that they take up a lot upon their shoulders and feel responsible for the people and town they reside in. They are immensely kind are sometimes find parts of the "human" experience endearingly alien. Friends can find them being fiercly loyal, and though it's clear they don't enjoy violence, but will participate in it to protect others. They are quiet when not prompted to speak, and have a wise air around them despite their young age for a Grim.

To Enemies:

Soldedad's rage to enemies is quiet, insightful, and swiftly carried out. They have no problems putting others in their place, perferably nonviolently. In confrontation, they usually bolster their image (and hopefully their need to de-escalate situations) by appearing as the mist-surrounded beast the storytellers warn of. They carry an air of respect around them.

To Themself:

Soledad would never admit what they do- their tendency for nonviolence, their care and love of simple pleasures in life- is an effort to be accepted by others and their community, particularly after an accident long ago. They also know that by barring themself by feeding on suffering often and instead connecting to feelings of love and home, they risk never truly being satisfied in appetite.

• reserved-usually keeps arms close to self or fiddles with their lantern staff
• waves around their staff at someone when cementing a point or arguing

• always has some kind of hat or open-toed cowboy boots
