Clementine

Clementine was born the only child of a fairly normal family, though from a young age she proved herself to be not nearly as normal as her parents. As soon as she was old enough to speak she was a curious child, and highly intelligent. Her parents tried their best to make her interested in things an average girl her age would be, and as a result she was never particularly isolated in school, though she always had her peculuarities that made her stand out from her peers. Before she even graduated high school she was offered a scholarship to the Academy and left on her own at the age of 14 to continue her studies.

Clementine eventually became fascinated by the subject of immortality. While at the time their were many, both mundane and magical, ways of extending lifespan or even reviving the dead, none could be considered true immortality. Seeing this as a challenge she began her own experiments on the subject. Other researchers saw her combination of magical and scientific theories as ridiculous so she worked largely alone, even experimenting on her own body. Eventually this was what led her to the first successful attempt and world reknown as a scientist.

Despite her intelligence, Clementine is more or less a normal teenage girl. She's cheerful and exciteable about her interests, regardless of whether it's fashion or anatomy. Generally she can mesh easily enough with normal people, though her own eccentricities will occasionally reveal themselves if she gets too involved with something. She can occasionally be childish, and those who are condescending towards her can get an unpleasant experinece of her pettier side. She's not the type to let things go and she's VERY aware that she's smarter than most people, so she often has conflicts with her colleagues at the academy. Despite all this she can seem much older than she actually is when it comes to her studies due to her intelligence and focus.
