Vance Girard

Overconfident and charming. May appear snobby at times and is really into materialistic things. Always willing to pay for friends and likes giving them expensive gifts. Is a big workaholic and gets nervous when he's away from work environment for a longer period of time. Doesn't like to be disturbed while working and gets very irritated. Once angry it is difficult for him to calm down. Holds grudges.

Vance had lost both of his parents in an accident when he was still just a baby. He spent most of his childhood at an orphanage in a small town in the mountains. 

When he was 13 years old an elderly couple showed up in the orphanage. Upon meeting him, they explained that they were actually his grandparents and have been looking for him ever since his parents had the accident that took their lives. He wasn't sure if he wanted to believe them. They ended up adopting him and taking him to their mansion in a port town at the border of Desert & Mountain Provinces.

Vance's grandparents were very busy people. They were in business with supplying the island's soldiers with arms and armor and had to spend a lot of time burried in papers and meetings. They assigned their steward Axel Hawk to take care of Vance while they worked. Vance didn't like Axel at all. He tried to get away from him on multiple occasions but was never successful.

As he got older, his grandfather started to teach him about finance and business practices. He enjoyed spending time with his grandfater a lot more than with Axel and was very interested in the work that he was doing. He started to help his grandfather with some simple paperwork and slowly started to work his way up the business ladder. As his granparents aged Vance took over most of the work and has become very proficient in this field.

Before his grandparents passed away they decided to give Vance the business and the mansion. They passed away when he was 19 years old and he took over the business right away. His relationship with Axel got a lot more work-oriented and they started to get along better.

On a business trip to the Desert Province capital he met Lena and the two eventually developed a romantic relationship. Lena was later stationed as a captain of the guard in the town he lived in.

After Lena's capture by an evil enchantress, Andra and her rescue a few months later they were unable to continue the relationship due to Lena's severe trauma. Vance was not taking it well at first, although he continued to give Lena support. His business partner Nero, was helping him cope with this. Vance and Lena re-established a friendship after Lena's mental state improved a few years later.

• Vance fancies modern mainland fashion and due to his wealth he is able to buy such things from smugglers.
• He wishes to be able to go to the mainland at some point in his life.
• He is very good at maths, but awful at remembering dates.
• Axel takes care of the dates and reminders.
