Nestling-Fledgeling

Snapper was very young when her parents were lost to the war and as such she doesn't have many strong memories of them. She was sent to the public nursery where she would spend most of her years. While there she made a handful of friends and quickly became rather popular. Well, popular amongst the other nestlings. The adults found her to be much to loud and rambunctious. Snapper was particuarly fond of breaking expensive trinkets. Her caretakers quickly learned to keep fragile things out of her reach. Snapper's wild energy did not go unnoticed, and she gained the attention of an older Captain nammed Spurflower. Spurflower began spending more time with her, telling her stories and keeping her entertained. Snapper came to find herself eagerly awaiting their visits, and would even make messy paintings for them out of the finger paints the nursery provided. Her favorite painting was one she tried to depict of the horses the old harpy was always talking about. She certainly tried her best, but she was a bit off. With an amused chuckle, Spurflower invited her to come and live with them. She would have the chance to mentor under them, as well as see a pony in real life. Of course Snapper jumped at the opportunity. While she may have been the first of Spurflower's adopted children, she certainly would not be the last.

Sub-adult

Living with her new parental figure was a whole new adventure. In their spare time when they were off duty or recovering from injuries, Spurflower taught her how to defend herself, how to ride horses, how to draw them, as well as the mundane parts of life such as cooking and cleaning and keeping up with ranch maintenance. When Spurflower wasn't able to teach her, they hired a variety of other mentors for her. School was boring as far as Snapper was concerned. She set about spicing things up by causing mischeif and wrecking havock where she could. This landed her in trouble many times, and after breaking a particuarly expensive artifact she was sent to the General's office. The General gave her a good talking to before sending her on her way again. Had Snapper learned her lesson? No, of course not. However she did learn what boundaries were and came to understand how far she could push them before getting into trouble.

Spurflower adopted several more children during her adolescent years. There was Mouse, the second oldest and Snapper's first sister. Snapper loved Mouse, but she especially loved to tease her. Then Banksia came along. Right away Snapper took to looking after her new brother. Her care of course consisted of the occasional teasing and pestering, poking and proading, but she had a soft spot for her little brother. Soon more siblings would come along: Ruby and Alabaster, Frond, and Fern. Each earned a special place in her heart and despite not being related by blood Snapper sees them as her full siblings. She's very protective of her siblings and makes certain none of them get into trouble.

Adult

Banksia was doing well for himself, so well in fact that he became a Sergeant in the war. Snapper had become a soldier herself, but had never put in the full effort to advance her rank. She was content where she was, and didn't want the same responsibility Banksia now carried. She was there for him when a battle went just about as badly as it could. He blamed himself of course, and Snapper couldn't seem to convince him otherwise. A few years had passed and much to her surprise but not disbelief Banksia became General. Almost immediatly she pestered him relentlessly, wanting to be placed on his personal squadron. After much arguing and convincing Banksia finally caved, if only to get her to shut up. Snapper took to her training a little more seriously now that she was on the General's squadron, but she was still the same goofy and careless harpy she'd always been.

Peace finally came about and the war was called off. Snapper was able to spend more time on her career as a broadwing, transporting goods with the help of her horse Spurflower had given her years ago. She kept in contact with all her siblings and made sure they were doing well. Often times she'd help Ruby out by carrying her things around for her. Just for fun, she'd pay Mouse a surprise visit and accompany her as she paddled around the waterways. Life was good.
