Cynthia's Links
Cares deeply for the reckless folk, and knows there's a lot more brewing below her bubbly exterior than she'd ever willingly admit. Knows there's not much point in convincing her to open up, but has resolved to keep an eye out for her so she can step in to help, even if just as a shoulder to cry on, if it winds up necessary.
Cares deeply for the aloof folk, and worries about her; she's fully aware of how much Cynthia has withdrawn as of late, and her belief that she could stand to be more proactive again doesn't outweigh her understanding of why her attitude changed so suddenly. Does wish she'd stop sticking her nose in everyone else's business, but is grateful she at least doesn't appear to do much with the things she deduces.
Cares deeply for Suncrest, and admires how deeply protective he is of the whole group, but just wishes he'd be kinder to himself; although she's fully aware she's in no position to talk there. Still, while he rarely opens up about whatever inner turmoil is clearly eating him alive, she's seen enough to know full well it's there. While she doesn't actively hold it against him for asking it of her (after all, how could either of them have expected things to spiral as far as they did?), and knows the way things are panning out are going to be far rougher on him than on her, a small part of her resents that he was able to convince her to lie to the other most important folks in her life for him.
Cares deeply for Cynthia, and holds great respect and envy for her keen perception. Still, he's far from oblivious himself, and he's noticed how closed off she's become as time makes her more and more conspicuous; he wishes more than anything that there was something he could actually do about it. Deeply grateful that she was able to stop Cauliflower from injuring him further, but hates himself for not being able to avoid the situation altogether. While he had no way to know in advance that his blight would take so long to become symptomatic, he feels intense guilt, shame, and regret over asking her to lie about what happened for him; it's become another source of his self loathing.
Her younger sibling, she cares deeply for Darion. She's incredibly proud of how far they've come out of their shell and into an almost leader-like role, but feels guilty that her own withdrawal seems to have at least partially been the catalyst for this. She tried to stay strong for them for so long, and for what? She crumbled the second things got a little too scary anyway. Deeply ashamed of lying to them on Suncrest's behalf; they deserve better than to be left deliberately out of the loop, but she couldn't have expected his blight to take so long to rear its head...
Their older sister, they care deeply for Cynthia. They can't lie, part of them misses the days when she kept them safe under her metaphorical wing, if only because she'd seemed happier then... but they certainly hadn't been in a good state themselves at that time, and looking back, Cynthia almost certainly would've been doing worse than she'd let on back then too. Just staying strong for them. Well... time for them to return the favour. They just hope she can come out of this happier, like they did after her help. Can tell she knows something about Suncrest's condition that they don't, but... can't tell what the truth is.
