Queen Shade was childhood friends with King Wolfgang, back when she was a princess and destined to be ruler while King was a simple servant that served only her. In front of the public, Shade would treat him like a servant but when they were alone she treated him like a brother. Over time, Shade started to develop feelings for him and they would often sneak off together to do "questionable" things. Life went relatively well, but the previous ruler started slowly catching on and this angered him.

One day, Shade along with King were caught together. There was a huge argument, and in the end Shade was killed by the hands of her father. King was a coward, and abruptly ran away before he would be next, out the castle, and into who knows where. Shade's father buried her corpse in a random area around the castle, and when he died King was found and forced to become the next ruler since he had a history with the princess and even King. But this would not be the last Shade would come, as her spirit was very angry that the canine she fell in love with abandoned her instead of dying with or even protecting her.

Shades spirit started haunting King Wolfgang wherever he went, and this resulted in him becoming the insane ruler he is now. Since Shade was succesful in punshing the one who betrayed her, the princess was given a chance at finally resting. But she chose to be revived and lived, so after going back to her body Shade crawled out of the ground and ran off into the night. THis is where she meets Panic, but that's another story.
