Background

Shiray, is the lead vocalist and songwriter for the visual kei band DeathPain, which was formed sometime in the early to mid 2000s
he has been around in the "scene" since his late teens so he was already in another band before DeathPain was formed, he left his old band for personal reasons, he joined Deathpain when he saw that they were looking for a vocalist he instantly got the job as Naoto and Koeji were already fans of his old group so they knew who he was and felt honoured to have him be their vocalist. Shiray truly fits under the tortured artist trope, his mind is often in a very dark place and he does suffer from depression and ptsd due to everything that he has been through,his life was hard since day one  he was born into a family of alcoholics and drug abusers so he lived under a neglectful abusive home and left when he was 16, even after leaving home his hardships did not end he took an interest in visual kei because he saw it as a place for the misfits and for him music is an escape from the horrible reality however he faced more abuse as he entered the scene from those he thought he could trust, all the trauma has left him being a very distant person.

Relationships: 

Naoto 

Naoto is the lead guitarist of DeathPain Koeji and Naoto already knew of Shiray even before he joined them as Shiray already was a vocalist in previous band which Naoto and Koeji were fans of so they both felt honoured to have him be their vocalist. Naoto's relationship with Shiray is entirely only work focused and nothing else due to the fact that Shiray is a very distant person and does not hang with the others much, he does end up getting to know him more though after Ling gets involved with Shiray seeing himself as Shiray's "brother in law"

Koeji

Koeji is the bassist of DeathPain Koeji and Naoto already knew of Shiray even before he joined them as Shiray already was a vocalist in previous band which Naoto and Koeji were fans of so they both felt honoured to have him be their vocalist. koeji's relationship with Shiray is entirely only work focused and nothing else due to the fact that Shiray is a very distant person and does not hang with the others much, regardless though he respects him as their vocalist and they never have any problems with each other especially since they both are the most quiet members of the group.

Shuji 

Shuji is the rhythm guitarist of DeathPain Shuji's relationship with Shiray is entirely only work focused and nothing else due to the fact that Shiray is a very distant person and does not hang with the others much, Shuji does not pick on Shiray nearly as much as Naoto or Koeji because he knows better than to piss off a frontman, he still might tease him here and there though since Shuji can't resist being a troll. 

Kayo

Kayo is the drummer of DeathPain,Kayo's relationship with Shiray is entirely only work focused and nothing else due to the fact that Shiray is a very distant person and does not hang with the others much, Kayo being the friendly person he is does often try to include Shiray in conversations though not wanting him to feel left out

Ling

Ling is the manager of DeathPain, Shiray respects Ling as their manager and they overall have a pretty good professional relationship,, however because Ling is an empath he senses that Shiray has a deep depression to him and he wishes to take him out of his shell, at first Shiray is distant and tries to push Lings attempts away, but he slowly warms up to him and opens up, Ling feels lots of empathy and compassion for everything Shiray has gone through and still goes through he wishes to help heal his wounds and pain overtime they do fall in love Shiray never was treated with such genuine care and kindness before so he truly cherishes his connection with Ling 

appearance: 

Shiray is a somewhat tall lean japanese man his natural eye color is brown but he normally wears red and white contacts with dark blue and black makeup on his eyes and lips, his hair is long with some shorter layers and long bangs that hang in his face, he typically ties part of his hair in a side ponytail, his hair is silver on one side and purple on the other with some black underneath, he always only wears black and dark colored clothing. 

Personality:    

Shiray is very aloof and reserved he keeps to himself and often prefers his own company not socializing with others mostly due to his trauma he does not feel any trust towards other people it takes awhile for him to even really trust Ling, Shiray does have a sadness in him he uses music as an escape from it all, on stage he appears as a different person being full of charisma and energy, the stage is where Shiray feels his very best.  after he falls in love with Ling he begins to slowly open up abit more around others since he has been given genuine love and care he sees that not every person is bad he still remains a more quiet type of person though.
