!! This is here to explain some of the Country Dog's lore and to set rules in place for the "fandom" to follow so innappropriate artworks can be avoided. !!

( I never had a way with words so if any questions arise from this, please ask! )

What is Country Dogs?

Country Dogs is a cast of anthropomorphic dogs created by ChefGatsby that represent the countries of the world.

Countries are represented by dog breeds well known/originating in their nation. Although the name is similar to Countryhumans, they share little of the same lore. Country Dogs can be better compared to Hetalia.

General Lore:

Age:

The countries are immortal however they can still be killed or die at a weakened state. The countries are "born" old enough to take care of themselves (usually between 4 and 6. some younger depending on if theres an older sibling or parental figure they can rely on) and from that point on, they age fairly quickly. They significantly slow aging once they're an adult. Their aging almost takes a halt. The Country Dogs have an actual age and a physical age. Their actual age is how long they have been alive for. Their physical age is a guess-timate based on the dogs health and appearance.

Organizations:

I will not make dogs for organizations such as the EU, ASEAN, or League of Nations. These are treated more as groups of nations rather than individual dogs. For example, NATO is made up of America, England, Italy, etc. instead of it being it's own entity. I will NOT make a USSR, Third Reich, Confederate States of America, United Kingdom, or Austria-Hungary.

World:

The Country Dogs universe does contain civilians, though they aren't the focus and simply just fill the world they live in. Politicians can be mentioned but are rarely ever shown onscreen. Everyone in the Country Dogs universe is an anthro dog. There are no humans.

Names:

The dogs have both their country name and a personal name. They are mostly addressed by their country name. The dogs can give the name to themselves or be given it by a sibling or parental figure though it usually happens when they are young. Their personal names are very sentimental to them and many keep it a secret from friends or those that they don't trust.

WWII and other Historical Events.

Rules:

-No swastikas or nazi uniforms.

-Do not represent WWII Germany as sexy/cute. WWII Germany is unshippable.

-No headcanons/art relating to real world tragedies/mass genocide. (Ex. The Holocaust.)

-Recent events or events that still have a sting attached to them by modern day people are not to be used in Country Dogs in any way. It is innapropriate to use such for character sob stories. (Ex. 9/11 or the current war in Ukraine.)

Overall: Use your brain to determine what is and what is not considered appropriate for Country Dogs. Take into account what has and what hasn't been touched in the series by the creator. Feel free to ask if you are unsure!

Stereotypes.

-Country Dogs is NOT based on harmful stereotypes. Any stereotypes that villianize a culture will not be tolerated. Humorous stereotypes that don't hurt anyone (ex: British people like tea) are fine as long as its not played up too intensely. Its fun to clown on England for liking tea but liking tea isn't his sole character trait and shouldn't be treated as such.

-Country Dogs are not to be illustrated in traditional clothing as an everyday outfit. If a character is in their traditional attire it should be for a reason. I occassionally draw their puppy versions in traditional clothing.

NSFW Policy.

-Sexual jokes and references are made in Country Dogs. The dogs do canonically engage in sexual activities with one another and it plays a significant part in the lore and timeline of each character. However, Country Dogs is strictly SFW, so any illustrations/creative writing involving exposed sexually arroused genitalia is NOT allowed.

-Artistic nudity is allowed under certain circumstances. You must be 18+ and you must ask me before proceeding or posting. However, before you do so, ask yourself why. The image should have a purpose and not be seen as sexual in any sense.

-Animal-like genitalia (knots and sheaths) is NOT allowed under any circumstance whether its illustrated or headcanoned.

Petty Rules.

-Do not roleplay as the dogs. It makes me uncomfortable.

-Do not commission other artists to draw Country Dogs. They are my personal characters and you need my permission to do that.

So... What is allowed?

-Ships. I don't care for ships as long as its not incest or weird.

-You may headcanon the dogs as whatever gender/sexuality you wish.

FAQ.

-Why include World War II in Country Dogs at all? || World War II is one of the most well-known wars in all of history. It'd be silly to completely skip it. It is absolutely possible to only focus on the war and relations aspect of World War II without mentioning the Holocaust, as well as avoid the use of swastikas.

-What does Germany's rabies in WW2 represent? || Nothing. It is there simply to make him look gross and unkempt to further push the idea that he is an unlikable character during that time.

-Can I make my own Country Dogs? || Of course! If you wish to make your own set of Country Dogs you may. (Please do not just take my designs and change their outfits. This isnt Countryhumans.) And if you wish to make a country for CD that I havent gotten around to designing, you may! (I will not be using your design and please avoid stereotypical/traditional outfits if you tag me.) You do not have to credit me if you make your own cast.

Overall: I am a human and I'm bound to make mistakes. Therefor, if you see anything innapropriate about my characters please speak up and I can immediately fix it! I don't know everything and despite my research, I can still overlook or misinterpret things. I am open to criticism and new ideas so please do not be afraid to approach me!
