Shin is a police officer. On the outside his personality seems blunt and irritable, but he is laid-back with a mischievious streak with those he's close to.

As a teenager, Shin was a delinquent, acting as a vigilante. His mother, Fuyumi Kurokan, left Shin to fend for himself and raise his sister, Hanayo.  Alone and barely able to speak English, Shin dropped out of school to   be able to work to support her, but developed his reserved, confrontational personality as a result. Hanayo was his reason for carrying on.

One day, Hanayo was attacked on the way home from school. The perpetrator wasn’t caught. Shortly afterward, while  walking  home from the hospital, he saw a group gang up on a girl Hanayo’s age and got into a fight with them. He stalled long enough for the police to show up – Shin got a slap on the wrist, but the  perpetrators were  arrested. The girl thanked him profusely and  befriended Hanayo.

Since it clearly yielded results, and he thought no one else would do it, he kept on acting in this vigilante  manner. It got to a point he was on first-name basis with the police  chief, Marcheford. It was an incident where Shin got hurt that he finally gave in to Marcheford’s pleas for him to stop.

Reluctantly, sitting in the chief’s office covered in wound dressings with his broken arm in a sling, he agreed.

Over the course of his time in the academy then force, Marcheford became the father that Shin never had. Shin still acted more recklessly than anyone would have liked, but Marcheford was confident he’d be fine. Shin also met  Remn, a private detective. Despite not being able to stand him at first, Shin gradually became close with and eventually fell in love with Remn.

• Speaks in Kansai-ben Japanese. Has a bit of an issue getting his point across in standard Japanese.
• Likes to wear button-up shirts and roll the sleeves up.

• Has a reputation for being recklesss and having a short temper - mostly from assumptions and misunderstandings
• Animal that best describes him: a guard dog.
• He  used to get sick a lot from overwork when he was younger; but he's  gotten to the point he's used to pushing his body to its limits. Therefore, he rarely gets sick anymore - but when he does, he gets it  bad.
