It's the 90s, and Maren was the new transfer student--he showed up at your high school in the middle of the year. He quickly became very popular, charming everyone with his half-lidded grin and witty, dark sense of humor. He's the sort who was able to be friends with any clique: the jocks, the preps, the goths, the punks. All of them thought Maren was a cool, likable guy, and he seemed to walk amongst them as if he were immune to the high school social system.
As summer approached, Maren's world turned around. His parents were killed in a fire that took his home. Your parents offered to let him crash at your house because he showed up that night and said he had no where else to go. Is it a coincidence that a string of murders started once he arrived? He was sleeping on your bedroom floor, and you were his alibi for every one of them...
