Opeus is a skilled carpenter and woodworker, hailing from the fairly small port-town of Sithole. He grew up and lived here his entire life, having basically been forced to take over his parent's woodworking and carpenting business due to them leaving and letting him fend for himself.

After having taken over and running the business for about 10 years, life was mostly hard work for hours on end, and not much else. One day, due to a horrible fuck up with his only friend, Opeus packed everything he had, got into his car, and drove off. He drove for days, just .. driving and driving, as far away as he could. After a couple of days, e ended up in a city in the country bordering his own. He moved into an apartment and is currently living there now, still running his carpenting business and taking commissions.

Despite having a very harsh demeanor and being very difficult to get to know, if you do have the patience to deal with him, and can stomach his kind of humor and general personality, you will find a very very loyal and sincere friend. Think of it like the type of friendship where you constantly pull rank on each-other, but you care deep down. He prefers to show his love for you rather then say it, being the practical man he is.

Due to having grown up in a home with two parents who never wanted him in the first place, and resents him for it, Opeus never learned how to deal with his emotions. he used to be a very timid and quiet kid. But one day, all his sadness, his happiness, his pain turned into rage. He was angry all the time, at everyone. Due to the difficult home-life and uncaring parents, who were nothing but cold and strict to him, he grew up into a very bitter, angry, cold and hateful person. Very few people in his hometown got along with him, which suited him just fine.

Skills

Expert skill level in carpenting, woodworking, restoration and handiwork. Proficient in marketing and an excellent salesman. Very good at cooking food that will last.

Favorite foods

Smoked salmon and generally all types of seafood are preferred, but he will eat literally anything.

Hobbies

Watching old "war on drugs" commercial while high, as well as most tv shows from Adult Swim. He usually watches them while stoned. When he has the time and it's warm enough outside, likes to smoke his pipe and relax on his balcony.

Personality traits

No-bullshit attitude, stubborn, very opinionated, angry, grumpy, strict, workaholic, detail-oriented, service minded, loyal, overprotective, perfectionist, abandonment issues.

Opeus was born due to an accident between his hardworking parents, who were very drunk one night and partied too hard, before having a one night stand. Due to this, his father decided it was best to get married and live together so they could actually afford to keep the kid, since his mother was shamed into not having an abortion.

From very early on, the hatred for his birth was very apparent in his life. Opeus was often reminded of how much he had ruined the life of his parents, who had worked so hard to get where he is now. They blamed all the future shortcomings on him, which pretty much ensured he never had any foundation to stand on, mentally. His upbringing was tough, and due to the neglect from them leaving to go on long business trips without him, he was often left to fend for himself. Due to this, Opeus became very independent from a very young age.

Early life

He was a very timid kid, who attended school and had trouble fitting in with the other kids. He would blush if you just looked at him. Sadly it only got worse as time went on. He would often beat up the other kids, get violent with staff, and in general just being angry and hateful towards anyone. This did not help his already poor reputation. Even this, his parents tried to control his awful behavior, but being unable to realize the root of it, only ended up in them sending him to his room or just ignoring him for the rest of the day. Despite the troubled times during school and class, Opeus managed his schoolwork very well, and actually got good grades. He had an insane perfectionist attitude, due to having a lot to prove.

During high school, he ended up meeting another person who he actually grew close to. Her name was Ski. She found his harsh blunt attitude interesting, and he liked her anti-authority views and personality. She was pretty much his only friend, and they would do everything together. He also introduced her to weed, and so they would get high and spend quality time watching movies together.

Later on

Once he got older, his parents realized that this kid might actually be useful, as his father was often very busy with increasing workloads. So, to make him actually useful, his dad started having him help with the family carpenting business. This was pretty much the only time he got to spend any time with them, so he eagerly took on the workload.

His father was very strict, so Opeus worked as hard as he could, and learned the foundation of what he knows now from him. His father accepted nothing but perfection, so due to this, Opeus would end up working twice as hard to try and impress his dad and have his parents acknowledge him for something positive for once. But this came at a cost. He ended up being too busy with this to hang out with Ski. Ski also got a job at a local bar, so they ended up drifting apart, as one does. Thinking that she had abandoned him and blaming her for not staying in contact, Opeus grew angry and started resenting her, feeling hurt and betrayed.

He thought that his hard work with the family business might actually pay off, but he was sorely mistaken. Once he hit 18, his parents had left for another business trip, (Once again forgetting his birthday,) but it would be for a final time. They announced to him over the phone that they found somewhere else to move, and he could fend for himself. Opeus had already grown so distant to them that he didn't even care at this point. However, once he realized that he had to take care of the business all on his own in order to have money for food, it hit him all at once. He managed, but his already poor mental health suffered.

Current

The final straw that broke his back was when he met up with Ski's parents one day. They had let him know that his best friend had tragically passed away a couple of weeks ago. This was from a drug overdose caused by the very things he had introduced to her. This news devastated him. Not only was he not able to say goodbye to her, but his ONLY friend died due to him. He accidentally let it slip that he had been the one to introduce her to the stuff, which ended up with them both lashing out and cursing his name. After attending her funeral, with everyone looking at him and whispering, he finally broke down. He packed everything he had, and left. He drove for days, until he found himself inside a city in another country. Using what savings he had, he now lives in an apartment near the city, and pretty much runs his shop from there. He drowns his past in alcohol and weed, and tries to move forward as best as he can, knowing he's a coward who ran away from his problems and the damage he caused. He never wants to set foot in his hometown ever again.

He would eventually end up meeting and befriending a underground fighter named Osamu, who he got along well with. After taking a side-job during a difficult time as a backstage worker for a concert, he got to know the lead singer for the bank Brokt, Urmek. Urmek ended up finding him so much fun that he and the band became pals. Urmek wold be the one who helped him heal.
