Urmek Roak'nol

biography

The front man and co-founder of the melodic death / doom metal band Brokt. A headstrong and positive kind soul who loves nothing more than to express his anger, sadness and inner turmoil with touring, singing and performing. Urmek was a troubled kid from a very early age. He was a kind and passionate kid, but suffered from clinical depression. Due to his parents not understanding his mental state or him in general, fights between them was the norm at his house. One day, the fighting got so bad that his patrents kicked him out when he was just a young teenager. Wowing never to speak to them again, he ended up taking what little stuff he had on him and just walk. He hiked for a very long time, until eventually reality was setting in and he ended up sittin gon a bench far away from town, crying. Luckly, a local priestess found him, and helped him get enrolled into a nearby insitute for troubled kids. From this point on, his personal hell would plague him for many years to come. He would never tell anyone how much he was suffering, stubbornly trying to handle it on his own. It did not last very long as he would attempt to take his own life, twice. However, the metal music scene would be saving grace.

Shortly after enrolling into a new school, this annoying kid would pester him constantly with questions about his interests, and was trying very hard to get to know him. He begrudgingly decided to actually get to know this kid, since he didn't have anyone else in his life. After learning this kid named Jeremy listened to the same stuff he did, he realized he had truly met someone great. They both bonded very quickly, and shortly after Urmek showed Jeremy how to play the guitar, they decided they were going to express their anger towards the world with their OWN cool band. Thus, Brokt was born. But they needed a drummer, and maybe a bassist too. It didn't take long before Urmek met his future friends and adopted family. With the help of his beloved band mates and the loud volume of his soul, he's been able to overcome and recover from the dark void plaguing his soul, and now lives a much better and healthier life.

Outside of the band, Urmek He also enjoys the occasional photo shoots to get his artistic side out, and has a couple of years of video and photography editing under his belt. He also manages most of the band's social media and marketing. To keep his mind at ease, Urmek enjoys daily walks throughout the forest areas near his apartment. He originally did this just because H.J forced him to so he could get out of his depression nest, but now he enjoys it and does it as often as he can.
