E loise Simmon had every chance to be a normal child. She went to a normal pre-k, a normal elementary school, and even made normal friends. Or so she thought. Turns out E.M. Lacoure and Mars Taffee are anything but normal. Okay. Fine. Nothing Eloise can't handle. So what if E.M. leaves for bigger and brighter places? Eloise understands. But Mars doesn't. Mars' downfall is something Eloise was not prepared for. But they can handle it together, surely. He's ready to go on whatever adventures Mars demands, just to keep them in check. And once Mars has finally cooled down, Jade Yang comes to them in a panic, not sure where else to go. Eloise sits back and realizes life is a cycle, and he's trapped in its grasp.

Eloise is a huge fan of vintage fashion, specifically 30s/40s/50s. It's almost all she wears.
Eloise is shorter than Mars but taller than E.M.

Eloise is technically the oldest in the friend group.
Although they don't really talk about it, Eloise is very committed to school.
If life was different Eloise would have been an orcestra kid.

All of Eloise's impulse control is stored in Mars. They've been friends since kindergarden, but didn't become close until E.M. moved schools in 4th grade. Mars holds a lot of rage, and Eloise holds a lot of guilt; they feed off of each other. It might not be the world's healthiest relationship but its all they've got.
E.M. didn't really keep in touch with her friends from elementary school; who has phones in 3rd grade? But once middle school hit E.M. followed Eloise on social media (the bare minimum - E.M.'s a busy gal). Suddenly, E.M. dropps off the grid. Jade knows who could help, but doesn't want to rip open that wound again. Too bad Eloise is a nice person. He'll force Mars to drop it at some point.
