Red Calhoun

Red (nicknamed this for his hair color, ofc!) had a fairly rough childhood and was teased for pretty much everything about him, from his thick glasses, bright red hair and freckles, to his "nerdy" tendencies ("teacher's pet" was one of the many insults he'd get, as he always got the best grades in class.) By the time he was in his late teens he'd had enough and began working out as much as he could in his free time, thinking no one would mess with such a tall, muscular guy. (And for the most part, it worked!) At 18 he even made the rather impulsive decision to join the army, seeing it as a way to prove his toughness and push himself even further. It was there he also developed an interest in helicopters and decided he wanted to pilot one as well, not truly realizing what he'd gotten himself into until he was sent to Vietnam.

Personality

Red sure likes attention and praise, and seems to have a constant need to be a part of things and put his two cents into every conversation. He can be a bit over the top at times, and it often feels as if he's trying too hard to impress people or make himself seem "cool" and funny, and one can't help but feel some secondhand embarrassment for him whenever he tells a joke no one laughs at. Though he isn't necessarily trying to hurt anyone's feelings he certainly likes teasing people, sometimes harshly, because he thinks it makes him seem like a cool guy, apparently, and it's also often his stupid way of showing someone he likes them. He also loves to show off his great knowledge with anyone (and not just in a condescending "look-how-much-smarter-I-am-than-you" sort of way) and will always jump at the chance to talk about things that interest him or teach people something new. He's quite good at discovering what makes people tick too, which can be pretty unfortunate for anyone who gets on his bad side, as he'll know just what to say to hurt someone deeply. All in all though, he really just wants to be liked and to be everyone's friend, even if he has odd ways of going about it.

Mannerisms

His posture comes off as proud and confident, and it often looks like he's trying to flex his muscles (and sometimes he is). He grins a lot and it's rare to see him without a smile. He speaks loudly (to the point that some find it annoying), laughs loudly (and frequently snorts when he laughs), and is overall very boisterous in all his actions. (Stuff like always wanting to give people high fives for any little thing, drumming his hands on the table along to music or just for the fun of it, and cheering/whistling/clapping louder than most everyone else.)

Voice

Best way to describe it is he sounds a LOT like Master Shake lmao. His voice is kinda...silly, I guess? How else to explain it? And can be kind of annoying and grating when he's yelling. XD

Likes: Science, Astronomy, Technology, Working Out/Exercise, Aviation, Talking, Attention
Dislikes: Being ignored, Laziness, Physical Violence/Heated Arguments, The sight of blood

Looks

Hair: Red/ginger, cut short & messy, and always greasy due to all the pomade he puts in it, (since it tends to be frizzy and sticks up all over the place without anything to slick it down)

Eyes: Bright blue, always covered by his thick glasses.

Build:Very tall, lean & muscular (six-pack abs and all) He has very little body hair, his chest/stomach are completely smooth

Scars/Body Modifications/Other distinguishing features: Lots of freckles alllll over the place, and has unusually pointy canine teeth (no, he's not a vampire or anything like that though!)

Clothing

Out of uniform he generally wears short-sleeved or sleeveless shirts (t-shirts, polo shirts, tank tops, etc), often with stripes in a variety of colors, with shorts or jeans. Basically he often dresses as if he were going on a hike on a summer day.
