Zol Magus (ゾル・メイガス Zoru Meigasu) is the adopted magician child of Rudaba. He is the final boss of Fallen Enchantment.

Concept

Zol is based off of the legendary king Zāl in the long epic poem Shahnameh, written by Persian poet Ferdowsi.
He also takes some inspiration from Zoroaster, who was regarded as an Iranian prophet and the spiritual founder of Zoroastrianism.

Name

His first name Zol takes from Zāl, his basis, while Magus is a word used to refer to priests in Zoroastrianism, and is sometimes used in relation to magicians.

Notable Relationships

Rudaba

She took him in when his parents abandoned him as an infant for his frail body and raised him into adulthood, where he ended up developing a talent for magic and learned how to master it from her.

Ahri Manyu

Ahri took notice of and advantage over Zol's doubts and desires over self-validation, manipulating him into thinking he could take command of the Avesta book and the daevas sealed inside.

Aka Mana

Zol summoned him from the Avesta book, unaware that the daeva planned to possess and drain him of his magical energy to regain their strength, killing him in the process. He becomes Mana's host and driven mad with power prior to getting defeated.

A young and unusually prodigious magician from mythical lands beyond Kuusou no Sekai.

When Zol was born, he was abandoned by his birth parents because of his frail condition, leaving him to die in the highland mountains. But he was miraclously saved by a legendary simurgh known as Rudaba, who pitied his circumstances and took him under her wing. She named him Zol, and raised him as she taught him all about the world. Out of all the things Zol was taught, he ended up developing a strong affinity for magic, and became a magician as a child.
