Eden is Ciel's creator and friend, having made him out of a human child when one of his butterflies came into contact with him.

An extraordinarily unusual and rare creature resting within a secret cave passage in the mountains of Kuusou no Sekai. He's also the friend and creator of Ciel.

A horerczy is a strange beast few see or even know about due to its elusiveness. A stationary hunter that relies on demonic butterflies and other dark fairy-like creatures hiding within its stomach to bring it nourishment in the form of human blood, preying upon sleepers as they dream. Those who are targeted by a horerczy are said to be plagued with nightmares after being drained, while young children in particular may become a fey-like creature.

Eden is no different, periodically coming down to the forests near small cities and towns to feed, then retreating to the mountains to hibernate. During this time, any butterflies and fairies that reside in his stomach eventually leave as he sleeps, either to live on their own or find a new host. As Eden slept within the mountain, he was completely unaware of the large collection of daevas meeting up for the summons, which happened just below his chamber. Nor did he know one of his creations would come searching for him, unknowingly bringing along a certain annoyance that would awaken him from his slumber.
